I finally got around to watching Hatred of a Minute and, while it was a decent low-budget movie, it wouldn't be of much interest here. There are really only two bondage scenes of maybe a minute or two, and glimpses flashed throughout the movie, but nothing really happens that would appeal to a ZFX crowd and more than any other quick bondage scene on TV.
It's otherwise a passable serial killer flick with a little more thought behind the motivations of the killer. The acting is good. The overall look of the film is a notch above most direct to video efforts. There are things that don't work in the movie. There's a gay character, that's trying to pick up the protagonist throughout the movie, but disappears in the last half of the movie. There's a boogieman kind of character that appears whenever the protagonist is in a violent mood, but it's another aspect of the movie that doesn't work. The boogieman mostly mirrors the protagonist's mood and doesn't add anything to the story. There's sort of a confrontation with the boogieman at the end, but there was never a conflict between the two anywhere else in the movie, so it didn't really make any sense to have one at the end. The boogieman is more of an emotional mime than a conflicting demon in the protagonist's mind.
Basically, Hatred of a Minute is an okay movie and not one that would make many people feel ripped off after watching it.
