I watched a Spanish horror movie called H6: Diary of a Serial Killer that might be of interest to some GIMPers, especially those who voted for rape over torture in the poll. It's from 2004, but I haven't heard it mentioned here.
The movie's about a killer who is released from prison and inherits a rundown whorehouse. He decides it's his mission in life to cleanse the neighborhood.
There are only two prostitute victims in the movie. They get strapped to a table spread-eagle with leather cuffs in a secret room that's covered in plastic sheets. They are supposedly tied like that for days, while the nutcase goes about his daily life and occasionally comes by to rape them or make them confess their sins. When he feels they are ready to meet their maker, he cuts them up with a chainsaw.
The pluses for the movie are that the victims make for realistic drug-addicted prostitutes, are somewhat attractive, and struggle mightily against their bonds. And the film does provide a good transition of the victims' mindset: from anger and threats, to trying to reason with the nut ("I promise I won't tell anyone"), to abandoning all hope.
The minuses: The victims are NEVER gagged!! That's just not right. The torture stuff is mostly mental, except for the raping and when he tricks one of the thirsty prostitutes into drinking his piss. They are wearing their undies throughout the whole ordeal, which takes away from the effectiveness of the too brief rape scenes. And he supposedly kills 18 women, but we only get the two. He even lets a potential victim go because she believes in God.
Overall, I'd give it a C+ as far as mainstream films go. You could do much worse with a horror movie, but it could have been sooo much better with some gags, more physical torture and more victims. Might be worth a rental. At least this could be added to the Rape List.
