(2) The virgin fiancé of a nobleman's son, Agnes (Jennifer Jason Leigh), is found hiding in a wagon ambushed by a group of mercenaries. She is stripped and held down by the women so that Summer (John Dennis Johnston) can rape her. She manages to burn his buttocks with a flaming log and he stops his attempt. Martin (Rutger Hauer), the group’s leader, orders that she be lifted into the air. He rapes her as they move her to and fro. She attempts to pretend she is enjoying it, but isn't very convincing. Summer is to be next in the intended gang rape, but Martin creates a diversion. Acting 5/5, Intensity 3/5, Graphic 5/5. Scene 7. Timer: 0:43:59 – 0:49:59. Action: 04:13.

(3) Agnes is riding in a wagon with her arms tied over her head. Summer attempts to force her into performing oral sex, but Martin again creates a diversion. Acting 5/5, Intensity 3/5, Graphic 5/5. Scene 8. Timer 0:53:47 – 0:54:24 Action: 0:20.

(4) When Summer is once again denied Agnes, he begins to force himself on a cook. It is presumed that she is raped off-camera. Following this, there are two “love scenes” (Scene 9 and Scene 12) with Martin and Agnes which is arguably rape since she is play-acting in order to win his protection.

(5) Summer, who is temporarily the leader of the mercenaries begins to molest Agnes. Since he was been denied her three times already, she is more than likely raped off-camera. Acting 5/5, Intensity 3/5, Graphic 1/5. Scene 13. Timer: 1:46:22 – 1:46:42.

(6) After they are defeated, Polly (Marina Saura) one of the mercenary women is accosted by two soldiers. It is presumed she is raped off-camera. Acting 5/5, Intensity 1/5, Graphic 1/5. Scene 16. Notes: There are only 2 bondage scenes in the movie featuring women and only one of those has nudity. The first is not meant to be sexual. It involves a young nun (full-frontal nudity) tied spread-eagle on a bed to prevent her from being hurt due to seizures. In the second female bondage scene, Agnes (Jennifer Jason Leigh when she was 23) is tied AOH, as stated above in the facts section. She is fully clothed for this scene, although she does numerous full-frontal nudity scenes throughout the movie. She is momentarily gagged with a knife across her mouth in similar fashion to a bit gag.

The "main" rape scene (see 2 above) is very well acted. Although Agnes convinces her attackers that she is enjoying it, shame and humiliation can be seen in her eyes. This theme continues throughout the movie. Agnes repeatedly submits to sex in order to solicit the protection of the man she sees to be the most powerful for the moment. There is a partial asphyx scene where Agnes is being strangled because Martin has finally caught onto her game of switching loyalties.
