Dark Tide (1994)
This movie is mostly notable because it starred the delicate but
shapely Brigitte Bako in a lot
of nude scenes. However, it did have a few GIMP bits that are worthy of
mention as well. Brigitte Bako plays Andi, who has followed her
boyfriend, Tim, to a tropical locale where he is collecting venom from
deadly sea snakes. Andi attracts attention from thoroughly unsavory
characters.
26:30 minutes. Andi is bathing
in a free-standing tub when Dak and his idiot sidekick, Stosh walk in.
Brief breasts before Andi covers herself. About a minute long. The
scene is accompanied by threatening music, but there is no threat. Yet.
42:30 minutes. Andi and Dak are
in an underground cave and go swimming. Andi's clothes come off in the
water and they have urgent but consensual sex. More Andi breasts. About
a minute and a half.
1 hour. While Tim is recovering
from being poisoned, Dak shows up and threatens Andi that he will
murder the defenseless Tim unless she submits to him. He gets her on
her hands and knees and rapes her from behind. He also roughly pulls
her hair. She screams and lurches forward as he thrusts into her. But
she is clothed. The scene lasts about a minute.
1 hour, 2 minutes. After a
dive, Dak follows Andi into the boat cabin. She tries to cut him with a
knife, but he disarms her. She says "let's get this the fuck over
with," and he grabs her face and forces a kiss on her as he pushes her
back, presumably to be raped but the scene ends there. It's a great 30
second build-up to nothing. But you know what happened.
1 hour, 05:35 minutes. One of
the nicest GIMP scenes begins with Andi in her tub (again), soaking the
stress of the day away. She looks down and sees one of the deadly sea
snakes swimming in the tub. It slithers up her belly and between her
magnificent breasts and kind of stays there, hissing ominously, as a
terrified Andi calls for Tim, who is in bed in the next room and
getting better but still very weak. We get a lot of terrified Andi,
sitting with her knees spread apart in the tub, her lovely breasts
trembling in fear, the snake between her legs and weaving back and
forth on the chest, until Tim finally rolls in, falls onto the floor,
drags himself up and snatches the snake off her naked chest. The whole
sequence runs about a minute and a half and it is great.
1 hour, 09:30 minutes. Stosh
tries to rape Andi on the boat, but she grabs a formidable weapon and
threatens to kill him unless he pilots the boat back to harbor. A very,
very brief struggle until Andi grabs the weapon.
1 hour, 11:45 minutes. Back on
shore, Andi makes a run for it, but is chased by Dak and Stosh, who
finally trap her up against a chain-link fence. Dak is behind the fence
and ties her wrists up and out to the side of her body. Stosh, who is
on Andi's side of the fence, starts to attack her, but she kicks him.
He hits her in the face. Stosh rips open her blouse (she is wearing a
bra), kneels down and undoes her jean shorts and pulls them down, then
rips off her panties. As Andi struggles and shakes in fear, trying
unsuccessfully to free her wrists, Stosh undoes his pants and moves in
on her. As he grabs her face and kisses/bites/licks her neck, she
screams louder and the scene abruptly ends. But you know what happened.
This is an especially awesome GIMP scene for me, because Brigitte Bako
really sells her terror at the knowledge that Stosh is going to rape
her and she is powerless to stop it. Even without nudity or seeing the
actual rape, I love this bit.
1 hour, 14 minutes. A girl is
thrown into a room for little brother Pauli to use to cure his
virginity. He tries to grab her, but she refuses and slaps him. As a
result, she is bodily carried into the next room by a bunch of guys,
held down on a table for Pauli to fuck, and her top is ripped open.
Pauli decides raping an unwilling girl is no way to lose his virginity
and when he refuses there is a brief altercation during which the girl
escapes. Very brief breasts.
1 hour, 28 minutes. During the
climactic fight, Dak follows Andi into a room and grabs her from
behind, squeezing her breasts through her shirt. He taunts her, then
slides his hand down into her shirt to fondle her, but she pushes him
back into a tub of venomous sea snakes and that's it for Dak.
SUMMARY: Andi is raped three
times, almost raped one other time, and shares a bath with a venomous
sea snake as it slithers up between her legs and moves back and forth
between her luscious breasts. Another girl is almost raped.
A nice B-movie starring the delicious Brigitte Bako, with copious nude
scenes, although all of them are kind of dark. The chain-link fence rape
and the sea snake in the tub scenes are stand-out GIMP scenes in this
movie. Brigitte Bako really sells the chain-link fence rape, even though
we don't get to see her nude and the scene ends before the rape really
begins in earnest. The phallic symbolism of the sea snake between her
wide-spread knees and resting on her bare chest is also very hot. The
fully clothed fucked from behind against her will bit is a notable
scene for the violence of the sex. Brigitte Bako does rape scenes
really, really well.
This is one of my favorite B-movies and I never get tired of watching
Brigitte Bako, whether she is having consensual sex or being assaulted,
so I may be biased, but I give this a GIMP grade of B+. Looks like there are
some 3rd party Amazon
affiliates who are selling the VHS tape, though no DVDs. There's a
vendor called Glory
Days Video, whom I have never heard of, who advertises the DVD for
$18.99. Also, there seems to be a rated and an unrated version, so I
suggest the unrated.
