Esteemed readership,

To celebrate the 14th anniversary of the GIMP I dared submit a story for consideration, and Ralphus has honored me in uploading it on the site. The story is set in a scenario based on the well-known "Logan's Run" movie, so it's a kinda science-fiction story. The general actions is related to the "enemy-agent-interrogation" theme, so no "innocents girls and pervs" here (well, almost). I also rather the action not to be completely explicit, to leave more space to the readers' imagination and skip boresome detail. You'll find a couple of little homages, also. The scenario is all but closed with this story, for the sake of completeness, though I feel it has enormous potential. Hope you take some time to read it (it's a short one) and eventually like it!

A picture review of "Psycho-Thrillers" Taken 2 starring Porn Actress Mae Myers (but has done some B&D with Hogtied and others).

The film starts off with the discovery of a raped and murdered victim of a serial killer. This is followed by a boyfriend, who happens to be in charge of the serial killer investigation, telling his girlfriend that it's probably not a good idea to go shopping in the immediate future. But of course she tells him I'll be fine and goes shopping the following day anyway.

Miley (played by Mae) gets followed and then gets cloro'd in the take down scene. She is then taken back to the killer's residence where he starts out with a pussy appetizer while she's still out.

Miley now comes to as she tries to fight but is slapped, choked and overpowered until getting her hands tied behind her back.

With hands now tied, the fun begins with Miley being forced to suck cock, followed by her rape.

&

Some more pussy eating follows with Miley getting slapped and choked. She then gets raped from behind.

Now comes the no-witness time as our serial killer mercilessly strangles Miley.

The killer rapes Miley's dead body and inflicts a final insult to injury by depositing a load into Miley's mouth and all over her face.

The film ends with the killer picking up the body and leaving it outside in a doorway to be found. A very intense performance by Mae makes this a must see IMO. Though she's got a few tats, she's also got a very sweet little body with natural tits and a very nice pussy. I'm a tat-hater myself. And I've also get a foot fetish....and Mae's got some nasty tats on her feet, which normally is a deal-breaker for me.....but I keep cumming back over and over to this one.

Also for those of you out there who like screaming, this one's got plenty. And by screaming, I mean SCREAMING. I don't know where they filmed this, but it must have been pretty isolated, lest cops be called.

Sometimes, simpler is better. Personally I don't care for rope burn on my cock from crotch ropes as an example for unnecessary excess. Hands bound behind her back still made for some very nice visuals. Throw in Mae's nice little body and solid performance, and this one gets 4 out of 5 HandiWipes.

Congratulations to Ralphus on 14 years. The forum was the inspiration for me to start to make my short bondage and rape movies over ten years ago and I am still at it today. Through GIMP I got to know Blakemore, Powershotz, Dan Hawke, Gary Roberts, Eyewitness and many more, and all have been an influence. So thanks Ralphus. While I am here, can anyone help me find movies where the woman is actually being penetrated while being strangled, bagged or hanged ? If so, I will go and get the box of tissues now.

I found 3 nice spanking scenes. They are in the Homepage URL (all in August).

The first 2 are from the Korean movie Gojitmal (Lies) from 1999 and the third one is from the German TV movie Hotte im Paradies (2003). The name of the actress is Nadeshda Brennicke.

And a few days ago I posted about a spanking scene with Bettina Zimmermann (Das unbezahmbare Herz/2004). Here are 4 caps of that short scene:

Gog: Thanks for the review of Taken 2. The picture-review concept is an interesting idea, although the large vidcaps that I like to use in my reviews wouldn't work in that format.

I don't know if Taken 2 is my thing but some of the pics look interesting. Does a rating of four HandiWipes out of five represent an A- grade?

A Canadian / Actually the 4 out of 5 HandiWipes represents more of a "B". But actually, I was thinking more of a "B+". So I probably should have put 4 1/2 HandiWipes. :-)

The pics may still be too small for your liking, but if you click on them they do get bigger.

Naw, not even close on the HTML wiz part. I'm just not as clueless about it as I used to be. I can write basic HTML code and replace one file with another, but the secret to my success is knowing which friends to ask when I need help.

And yes, technically I have shrunk a little bit, but that's only because I just got back from the barber. My afro was getting too shaggy, so I had him take a couple inches off. But it will grow back.

Gog: Very nice review of Taken 2. We haven't had a review of a Psycho Thrillers movie here in years, and the vidcaps definitely helped. NicheClips has so many stores with so many movies that I know nothing about, and it's nice to get reviews of some of them around here. In the case of Taken 2, the tats would probably disqualify it from my consideration, although Mae Myers is definitely a pretty woman otherwise.

Congratulations on your very first review; you're now a member of the GIMP Reviewers Club, with all the benefits that come with it. And you can proudly forward the link in my Homepage URL to your friends and family to show them you've finally made it.

-----------------------

marathonmann: Thanks for sharing those caps with the board. Bettina Zimmermann is quite attractive. I looked at a few of the clips you linked. So what do you guys think about spanking? Does it have any appeal for you?

I subscribe to a Google group (Boilerplant) that will every now and then feature artworks of women being spanked, and try as I might, I just can't get into the whole fetish. I can certainly understand its appeal, a woman getting her bare ass reddened, and it's obviously a form of torture, along the lines of whipping. But I guess my problem is it all comes across as a consensual punishment. Usually the woman is bent over someone's lap to be punished, as opposed to being tied down. To me, that's the biggest reason it just doesn't turn me on. A woman being spanked could easily just get up and run away if she wanted, whereas if she's tied into place, that takes away that option. And restraint is what I want to see. That's why a woman locked up in a cell doesn't hold nearly the same appeal as one that's tied up.

But let's hear from the rest of you, and since we have more people here than usual because of the anniversary celebration, maybe we can get some fresh opinions.

GIMP POLL:
What do you think of spanking in movies or videos? Does it appeal to you as much as other forums of torture or punishment? What do you like/dislike about it?

This could be an interesting question, since in the 14 years of this forum, spanking hasn't been discussed much here at all. Who knows, could a spanking database be far behind?

Jess Franco has passed away. Over the years, his work has been mentioned on this forum multiple times, and for good reason. When it came to mainstream GIMP films, he had no equal. Simply put, he was the greatest exploitation filmmaker of all time. I've collected so many great GIMP scenes that came out of Franco movies. Films like The Bloody Judge, Barbed Wire Dolls, Marquis de Sade's Justine, Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun, Women Behind Bars, Exorcism, Ilsa the Wicked Warden...the list goes on and on.

He made over 200 movies in all different genres, and many of his films featured naked women tied up, raped, abused, and tortured in a variety of ways. Here's an example. In the newly opened Hot Iron Database, there are 5 films by Jess Franco featured, way more than any other director. We've got 19 reviews of Franco films in our Reviews section, again, way more than from any other mainstream director.

Most of his greatest works were from the 1970s, back when you could show full nudity and violence, and Jess knew what he liked and didn't hold back, even though many of his films were censored for Western audiences. It's only been recently that Franco has gotten his deserved recognition among cinephiles for his large body of work. He really was a groundbreaking artist in many ways. I know Amy and Jac Avila were influenced by his work, and so were a lot of other of today's filmmakers.

When Lina Romay, his biggest star, muse and common-law wife passed away last year, I knew that was a bad sign. I was certain that Jess would likely soon follow her, since that seemingly always happens with longtime couples...when one dies, the other one follows not long afterward. It's really sad. I was a big fan of Franco, and while not everybody here may be familiar with his movies, watch the top of the site in the days to come. We'll be honoring Franco's work by highlighting some of the great scenes in his long career.

Have to throw in with Ralphus on the spanking thing - as a heavy weight Gimper spanking always seemed nothing more than a corporal punishment reserved for your children after excessive misbehavior or a gimmick slipped into a mainstream film for comic effect such as "McLintock".

Now, if she's restrained and you want to tan her ass with a bamboo pole we're talking the same language.

Stay well all

Congratulations for the 14th anniversary!

On behalf of all our cast and crew, I salute you all on this magnificent 14th anniversary of the GIMP. We're very happy to be part of this, indeed. I would've loved to know the GIMP when we started... one year before you.

But we found each other and here we are, celebrating those 14 years and hoping to continue for the next 100 years of exchanging views, sharing our work and just enjoying the company.

I did find a review, however, of our very first Red Feline production: Red Feline on the Cross. Apparently a very bad copy was reviewed, but in the sake of looking into history I refresh our memories of such time when the GIMP and Red Feline were beginning their daring and now incredibly famous first steps.

We were very, very sad when we read the news: the much admired Spanish film director, Jesus (Jess) Franco died. If there's one filmmaker that set the grounds for the work Jac, Amy and all of us are doing it was Jess Franco. A very complex man with a daring vision and who had no limits to what he wanted to do. Born in 1930, he began making movies in 1961, before I was born, and when the oldest in our team was just a kid. Jess did not stop, ever. Apparently he never took a break because through out his career he made over 200 movies. Some accounts say that he made over 300 movies. Some of them are very, very good, and some are not so great but all of them have something for the most demanding of viewers.

The best way to remember him is following his example.

We're back on the road to more productions. Amy returned from her sad journey to the US with some extra gadgets and the intention to put all of her energy in her creative pursuits.

Pre-production for Olalla has begun in earnest. Mila and Jac are busy creating their characters, Amy has hers all down pat. Furniture and walls have been moved.. yes, walls. The set begins to take shape. Props, decorations, everything begins to fall in place. Not to mention costumes.

Amy prepares her new film encouraged by some very recent reviews which will be appearing soon in a cultural magazine published in the west coast, Beverly Hills, to be more precise. Amy shared a couple of those reviews here, not long ago. I will be sharing them as well.

One line in one of these reviews says simply that Le Marquis de la Croix is: a master class in film direction, courtesy of Hesketh herself. .

How's that for encouragement? The complete line goes like this. This intense and focused Bolivian production, handsomely mounted by Amy Hesketh and Jac Avila with just the right visual accents and splashes of color for Decadent Cinema, is a master class in film direction, courtesy of Hesketh herself.

We have the feeling of having been discovered. Not long ago I noticed that someone bought all of our mainstream films. What got my attention was the e mail address. It was a company name. I checked it and found that it was an online magazine. An arts magazine. Beverly Hills Outlook was the name. We all know what it means. It means Hollywood, it means the mecca of the film world.

No much longer we were contacted by the Editor who said they were reviewing the films for publication. He also wanted some information about Pachamama Films for an article about it.

Well. That was a surprise. But what was even more surprising were the reviews themselves. They were amazing.

This magazine is read by over 11 million people, that's their reach, and they are going to be reading a paragraph like: While the company is notable for its engagement and empowerment of female talent, both before and behind the lens, with its most notable accomplishments being realized by cineaste Amy Hesketh, the aesthetic framework of the company reflects the vision of Jac Avila. His presence and perspective dominates the company's output, even if it benignly guides, rather than explicitly crafts, the company's product, often assuming key, but secondary, positions within a project, such as editor. Even as he declines the spotlight, his sensibilities pervade every frame. The partnership between Avila and Hesketh represents reverse sides of the same coin, and reinterprets the cinematic meaning of the word Auteur.

There's an interview in (re)SearchMyTrash. Amy and Jac discuss the film Barbazul at length. It's a very interesting interview.

And here's a very interesting paragraph of the review of Barbazul that will appear in BH outlook: As director, Hesketh minimizes individual personality, but emphasizes function, as she summarizes compulsion as ritual (with the same action, such as brides crawling across a bed, repeated on differing wedding nights, while symbolizing the title character's illness). There is also an element of exhibitionism through the personalization of her vision, as the film opens with her, as Jane, being garroted and she observes her own flagellation, excused as it is by a fictional context). She uses the Bolivian landscape to establish isolation physically, after having familiarized us with an urban setting, which only emphasizes the isolation conducive to homicide, and, in keeping with the production company's signature, briefly but perversely, uses Catholic iconography. She employs primary colors (in the form of strictly color coordinated bed sheets) to great effect, and, in her depiction of a private garden becoming her own character's final resting place, in suggesting that Jane is buried alive, which fearlessly voices the necrophiliac. Her visualization through use of a plastic bag of breath being extinguished, contains great dramatic force at the same time is appeals to yet another specialized fetish, erotic asphyxiation.

We published in Pachamama Films the complete review of Martyr by Charles Lonberger. An interesting paragraph says: The film succeeds because of the confident direction of Jac Avila, which treats a contemporary personal journey as it were an Illustrated Manuscript, thereby adapting the Medieval to the contemporaneous. Employing super impositions, and intimate hand-held shots, his primary perspective is omnipotent in its bird's eye views. While the cumulative effect is of moodiness, his scene of Camille's crucifixion is convincing. Interestingly, he suggests modeling to be a form of Martyrdom.

The Beverly Hills Outlook magazine is also waiting for the release of Dead But Dreaming. We don't have a date yet, but we're hoping it will be before the northern summer. There's a trailer in the works, it should be up soon. I'll let you all know. The film is looking great. The first cut is done, so Jac is doing the fine cut, sound, and all of that.

That's it for now. I expect to have a lot more news in the next few weeks. Trailers, news about productions, new images. Lots and lots. Below a link to where you can find our mainstream movies.

I'll have more exciting news soon. Until then!

Reine Margot

Amy's so beautiful! I'd love to get a custom scene with her but I'm pretty sure it'd be more than I could afford. She's pretty much my perfect girl. Gog: I agree with you 100% about Amy, she's got it going on at so many levels. I got it bad...so bad...I'm hot for Amy...

BTW, thanks for the nice write-up on Taken 2. It's always good to find out what's happening on nicheclips.

----------

GIMP Poll: I'm in agreement with Ralphus and Sloth regarding spanking. I'm a big fan of whipping, and I've noticed that some sites feature both whipping and spanking. But whipping is at or near the top of the things I like, while spanking is near the bottom. In general:

~ spanking focuses only on one part of the victim's anatomy, and often the other parts - which I am more interested in viewing - are covered or clothed;

~ as already mentioned, spanking is usually done without any physical restraints, which reduces the "merciless" aspect of it;

~ often, the victim is portrayed as consenting to the punishment, and even enjoying it.

Now I'll concede that out there in the ether, one can find images of spanking scenarios that do include restraint, complete nudity and lack of consent. But it's probably mixed in with a lot of other stuff that I'm not interested in, so it's a waste for me to devote a lot of resources to finding it when I can put them to better use going after the harder stuff that ranks higher on my list of priorities, i.e., does a better job of getting me off.

Like this scene from Die Blond Sex Sklavin, which works much better for me as an AOH chest-whipping than it would have as an over-the-knee spanking.

----------

*sigh* Jess Franco: What can I say about him that has not already been said? I just recently finished watching one of his pre-Lina Romay flicks, Love Camp, in which every actress appears either totally naked or topless for extended periods throughout the movie. There are two GIMP scenes: a double-whipping (in the database) and a scene in which the bitchy camp commanderette murders Esther Studer's vagina with the handle of a riding crop. Good lord. Who could make a "mainstream" movie like that today?

I enjoyed the scene where Lisa Kinkaid got spanked in Voodoo Dolls 2: Ritual.

I also liked the spanking scene in the old B&D Productions (Bon-Vue) movie, Abduction on Devil's Peak.

Not many other spanking scenes struck me as memorable, though.

Deano: I found the movies I was talking about. The first one is from Psycho-Thrillers called Casey Had it Cumming.

Against my better judgement I bought this one basically for two reasons. Riley Shy, and Riley Shy totally nude. I knew the premise for the movie was consensual, but I thought at least there would be a struggle when things start to go too far. Instead, Riley just takes from behind and strangles to death with her ass up in the air right up till the end. No bondage. No struggle....Nothing. Boring (to me anyway) and a waste of money.

The other one is from PKF called Spring Break (Part 2). Thought I'd go ahead and do a quick photo review on this one.

Part 2 (didn't see part 1) opens with a kidnap victim thrown onto a bed with her hands cuffed behind her. Her two kidnappers strip her and re-cuff her wrists to a spreader bar for some anal rape.

The anal continues as both take turns, even filming the action. They then uncuffs her wrists and turn her over as they continue raping her now vaginally.

As the rape continues, the victim begins to get strangled.

After climaxing on her stomach, they finish her off. The two keep her around as they rape her corpse a few more times.

A lot of good....and some not so good on this one (just my opinion of course). Jizzabelle plays the victim and is an all natural, light-skinned beauty, with no tats. She puts out a pretty good performance except for one thing. She never utters a word.....and she's un-gagged a good part of the film. You would think there would be some pleading here or there. Instead just moaning and crying.

Next there is the un-cuffing of the wrists. And even though her hands are restrained most of the time, they are not 100% of the time. So when her gag gets put back into her mouth, she could have easily have pulled it back down. Amongst other things she could have done with free hands.

Then on a personal level, they strip her but keep her shoes on. A visual turn-off for me....but that's just me.

So have to give this one 3 1/2 HandiWipes (C+). Probably higher if I didn't mind the shoe factor.

Re the latest poll: I find a spanking scene to be a turn-off because (1) why would someone choose to inflict pain on the part of the body best designed to endure it, instead of on one or more of the many other parts of a woman's body? (2) it takes the place of numerous better possibilities, (3) the position of the woman's body (especially if the spanking is OTK) is usually not very erotic and (4) it means the filmmaker is not really serious about putting the Girl In Merciless Peril, so other possible GIMP scenes in the film are also likely to be lightweight and weak. [I've found that I'm usually in the minority on Ralphus's polls, but maybe not this one, I think.]

GIMP POLL

What do you think of spanking in movies or videos? Does it appeal to you as much as other forums of torture or punishment? What do you like/dislike about it?

If you're letting the person you're spanking get free you're not doing it right.

You put the woman over the one leg and hold her down with the other. Those hands can thrash about trying to stop you but it adds to your pleasure as she bucks around. After you get tired of using your bare hand you can use a hairbrush or a shoe. When you tire, you push her off onto the floor and tell her to either not move or get you a beer.

If you need to do a formal punishment you put them over a chair back or a chair seat. If they think that hurts just let me have to come after you or let you jump up or jump off and you have the pleasure of tossing them back on.

Sure it is semi consensual that you don't have that much chance to grab a stranger and not get arrested.

Think about John Wayne and all the great spanking he did in his movies. McLintock, Donovan's Reef.

Spanking is a word I associate with hand to ass cheeks which is neither gimp nor erotic to me. If you take a belt or whip and whip a gimp's ass, that's not spanking. In Maleficarum, Amy's ass got whipped along with her back which is not spanking.

Webster's says open hand or flat surface item (paddle) only and anything else is not spanking. It may be erotic especially to the lady being spanked and the spanker but to watch it on movies I say it's not erotic or gimp worthy to me to see.

A better question is gimp ass whipping erotic in movies which I say yes and I'd like see more of. Bill K.

Poll: Generally speaking, most forms of GIMPage which show up in "mild BDSM" videos and the bedrooms of consenting couples don't do much for me. Clothespins, hot wax, nipple clips, paddles, even switch canes and riding crops are great for playtime, but there's a reason they aren't mentioned in the Interrogator's Handbook. Of course open-hand spanking is, for reasons already mentioned, among the most useless punishments of all - perhaps even less effective than (ugh) tickling.

There's a world of difference between putting your victim in merciless peril and merely making her uncomfortable. Since this forum is about the former, I'm not surprised the poll results are looking a bit lopsided.

Giga JMSZ-08: Unjust Execution Heroine - Magical Idol Girl Star Light Rinka (Also under the title: Falsely Accused and Executed Idle Magical Girl according to the opening title in the actual video).

Actress: Kotomi Asakura
Directed by: Minooru

I was really interested in making a review about this movie, because of the performance by its star (Miss Kotomi Asakura) and its shocking ending which to date, still leaves me in awe. And to contribute in any way possible to the GIMP community.

This movie is done by the fine folks at Giga, producers of Japanese Adult Videos which implement the use of Japanese sci-fi style FX and stories involving heroines who get raped by cheesy looking goons or monsters; and in some cases, their endangerment takes those given heroines to meet their erotic demise. Which is usually done in way more gruesome and cruel ways when Giga releases a film under their Zeus sub-divisional brand.

The story under review here is: Unjust Execution Heroine - Magical Idol Girl Star Light Rinka. Kotomi Asakura portrays the titular character Rinka, who here is a magical girl heroine who doubles as a Japanese pop singer (it seems her identity as a superheroine is public). She is a direct parody of the character Ranka Lee from the latest Macross anime, in which the aforementioned character is just a pop singer rather than a super heroine.

The movie opens with a scene of her capturing some masked thug without much effort, and then we pass to the opening credits with Rinka doing a performance as she is mentioned on a newscast. Someone is watching this newscast, some sinister looking old man. He later receives a video message from another sinister looking individual, and it seems they are planning something with Rinka.

Onto the next scene, we see Rinka happily with whom it seems is her agent and a woman who is her assistant/make-up girl. Seems like they were just planning out to start their day job as usual, when all of the sudden the sinister looking old man appears along with other men in suits. It seems the man is the police chief and is sick and tired on how Rinka has made the police department look bad, as she alone has done a better job against crime than he and his men. And it seems the best way to get rid of her is to turn her also into a criminal by framing her of a crime. And that crime is drug possession. How will this be done? Well, one of his suits plants a bag of drugs in Rinka's purse; they pull it out and that marks the end of Rinka's colorful days. Not even her agent knows what to do, and Rinka's martyrdom begins.

Once taken into custody, Rinka is taken into an interrogation room; but to her misfortune, there is no good cop. Just a bad cop who trashes her around like no tomorrow to the point of making her bleed. Probably he was trying to force her to "confess her crime" despite we all truly know what is going on.

Still my Japanese is limited so I am not sure if she confesses or not, but later the police chief arrives with a paper, which seem to be the order to take her to jail. And the media spread the news that their goody two shoes heroine might be a dirty drug dealer.

At prison, Rinka is getting her profile done. But not enough with having her mug shots taken, they hot iron brand her prison number in her right butt cheek. It is such a beautiful de-humanizing scene how the number 4100 is branded into her tender skin.

A short scene comes next where Rinka is sleeping in her cell after her terribly unjust torment, then the police chief comes in with some food for Rinka. He throws it out at her so she can eat it like the junkie bitch she is. Like anyone else would eat after receiving such a pain in the arse.

The next scene has Rinka being showered with a hose, something usually seen in prison films. Ironically, she is clothed during the scene, but as she is chained from the roof, she is defenseless to avoid such punishment. After that she is taken in to entertain some fellow male inmates with her pop show, and you can imagine what happens.

Not being professional, Rinka succumbs to the insults from the convicts rather than continue with the show. And soon not only she is broken morally but also in body as the convicts give her a sequel from her interrogation and beat her up all over the room. The guys aren't very smart as they don't rip off her clothes and molest her, but they do leave her to a bloody pulp. Come to think of, there is not much skin in this film.

After her performance in entertaining the male inmates; she once again is suspended from the ceiling and the interrogator returns to give her some good old electric torture. Sadly again she is clothed but we do see Rinka getting wet herself from the torture. After a while, interrogator guy finally becomes smart and removes Rinka of her panties. She uses a microphone/dildo to penetrate her.

At the end of the torment, the police chief arrives and maybe mentions the fate of poor Rinka. Which leaves us to the climax of the film and why I decided to write this review.

This scene... the final scene of the movie... we get to see some various kanji as eerie music plays, we see some stairs and it is all dark, nothing but cold and metallic colors which contrast and overwhelm Rinka's colorful and cheerful outfit.

It all points out that the crime committed by Rinka is punishable by death. Death by guillotine to be exact.

Rinka is taken by the chief all the way up to her execution device, as she cries and pleads. She begs and begs as she can't believe this is happening to her. Her final word is a long and screaming "nooooooooooo" as the blade descends and cuts her delicate neck. Her cute head with its pigtails fall all the way down to the ground as the metallic blade also makes its noise on the ground, and her headless body twitches and releases a post-mortem urination...

A ghostly theme plays as we see Rinka's open mouth covered in blood; we span to her eyes and then we see that the police have placed her decapitated head hanging from its pigtails. Perhaps as a warning in case some else decides to do the police's job and do it better than them? A tragic and unfit end for such a pure spirit; or a rightful one for such a lowlife drug junkie whore as how perhaps the police are telling the media how to handle the story.

Again, as I mentioned there is hardly any skin in the film which is a letdown; but I find the last scene, Rinka's execution, to be a powerful one. Here we see a poor helpless girl receiving a harsh exaggerated sentence for a crime she did not commit and worse is that it is the very same law that is supposed to take care of our society.

It probably never crossed her mind that it was the very same authorities the ones who set her up and not some enemy or even her agent or employee. From the little Japanese I understand, it seems she was trying to say that she "didn't do anything" as she cries desperately as her head is placed for execution. There is no hope for her, she is forsaken.

She is the perfect sacrificial lamb. Innocent yet has to endure painful humiliations in order to get to her gruesome end. A pointless martyrdom. Rinka is a superheroine and superheroes are usually a symbol of hope in fantasy as a way of escapism from cruel reality. But here we see a colorful heroine of fantasy meeting a realistic and cruel demise. Which is what I loved from this film.

A previous film in this line features a "Power Ranger" like character (JMSZ-09 Heroine Cruel Story - Beheading Pink) who also meets her end by the guillotine, but because she was wearing her helmet, we are not able to see the anguish in her expressions like the lovely Miss Asakura did. Plus that execution loses some drama as she is killed by a villainess of fantasy instead, while here Rinka receives an undeserved punishment from THE MAN. This is something we hear of quite often in our world, but the media or other parties usually do not give us full information about something (or there is some censorship) as it happens to poor little Rinka.

Anyway, I hope for Giga/Zeus to make more works like this (the video can be bought by US western audiences at their Akiba Web website) to satisfy our dark desires to see hopeless GIMPs. Like mentioned, it is the climax of the film that made me interested in writing this review but sadly there is hardly any skin in it. So I give it an A due to Asakura's powerful performance which touched my heart (and something else lol). But if she had shown more skin in her tortures (and maybe add more cruel ones to break her further) and execution, it would have received an A+ for sure.

GuymanSeven: Great work on the review and the caps of Giga JMSZ-08. The Giga/Zen movies definitely have their fans on this forum, although they don't get reviewed all that often.

JMSZ-08 looks like it has plenty of good stuff in it and Kotomi Asakura sure is cute. But I find the pop princess outfit unattractive and a bit off-putting. I would rather have seen Kotomi in one of the super-heroine or space-girl outfits. It sounds weird, I guess, but since Kotomi wears much of that outfit throughout the movie, I have a feeling it would be too much of a distraction for me.

Gog: Thanks for another fun picture-review. As best as I understand the rating system, I think a GIMP flick has to do better than 3-1/2 HandiWipes before I consider tracking it down.

Today's Pic is a good illustration of Lina Romay's unique blend of sweet-faced innocence and sultry sexuality when she was in her prime. It always amazed me how often Franco was able to bring to the screen so many of the most tasty beauties and cuties that Europe had to offer.

Among the standouts was one of my favorites, doll-faced Susan Hemingway. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe her short cinematic career was spent making movies for no other director but Franco.

Susan Hemingway abused in Women in Cellblock 9 (top)
and Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun (bottom).

----------

guymanseven: Thanks for your review of the typically lengthy-titled Giga movie - it's been a while since we've had one of those.

I find these superheroine movies rather fascinating, even though I've seen only one or two. Perhaps I'm a bit too analytical, but it seems that if you beat one of them up to a sufficient extent, they lose their magical or super powers. If I were in Rinka's situation, I'd use my powers to get myself the hell out of it. But I guess it says something about the honor of a Japanese superheroine that she respects the legal authorities, even when they're egregiously mistaken.

Obviously, the performance of the actress was the big selling point for you; it's not easy to convey that with words or even still pictures. But I appreciate your effort and contribution.

----------

So now Roger Ebert has left this mortal coil. I guess I'll always be grateful to Ebert for Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, a movie that did not emphasize GIMPage, but still had a big impact on this young man's impressionable mind...especially toward the end of its running time. My thumb's up.

Gog: You've made your parents proud again. Good job on the review of Spring Break Part 2. You've hit upon a few of my pet peeves in your review. The first would be when victims don't say anything when they're tied up and abused. I want realism in my fantasies. If this were real and you had a girl tied up and stripped, wouldn't you think she'd be begging or pleading or cursing or saying something to try to talk the men out of it? Moaning and crying are great, but if a woman is tied up, her only defense would be her voice and I can't think anyone who would merely whimper and take it and not say a word. That's when you gag her and then it's okay to hear her cry and scream...through the gag. In fact, it's much more satisfying to be able to shut her up at that point. It's like telling her "I don't care about what you have to say, I just want to fuck you (or worse)."

And the other point is about when a woman can easily remove her gag, but just plays along and doesn't (because it's not in the script?). A good abductor should never give her the opportunity by tying her hands in front or leaving her hands free at any time, so if that's what happened, that's an automatic lowering of the grade, by at least a half a Handi-Wipe.

The direct link to your latest review is in my Homepage URL above. And drop me an e-mail when you get a chance.

Guymanseven: Wow, you really did a great job on your review. Very thorough and interesting to read, plus the vidcaps helped illustrate what was going on. You obviously put a lot of time into writing it and I hope others here will take a few minutes and give you the praise you deserve.

The movie looks like a lot of fun. I don't mind the lack of skin, although that probably would have improved it. The lead actress is quite cute and it sounds like she's treated very badly, which is why I like watching these movies. She gets beaten up, branded, electro-shocked, sexually assaulted and finally executed...what's not to like?

Congratulations on your first review. And here's your link: http://ralphus.net/reviews/japan/jap_gigajmsz08.htm

Roger Ebert passes away: That's 2 of my favorite film industry icons that have died with the past few days, along with Jess Franco. Very sad. I developed a love of movies by watching Siskel and Ebert every week, starting from back when they were on PBS all the way though the end of their run.

Now, obviously, neither Siskel nor Ebert were fans of the type of movies we like here, but it was their condemnation of films that glorified violence against women that (unintentionally) gave those films some exposure and launched at least one of them, I Spit on Your Grave, to cult status. In fact, I seriously doubt that film in particular would have gotten noticed if the 2 famous film critics hadn't mentioned it so prominently in their most famous (or infamous, depending on how you feel about it) special episode.

We've brought it up here before, but this is the perfect time for an encore viewing. Here's the Siskel and Ebert "Women in Danger" episode, from 33 years ago. Boy, do I feel old.

Susan Hemingway also appeared in Women in Cellblock 9 when she was only 16, too, thus insuring that Hell will freeze before that film ever gets cleared by the BBFC for certification. With that being said if you were to tell me that she was in her late teens or early 20's at the time of the filming, I could've easily believed it.

This is kinda interesting. As of this writing, the top two best-selling movies at aaparadise.com are Lady Attackers from Hell 3 (JBD-160) and Lady Attackers from Hell 2 (JBD-157).

By the way, Attackers has announced its upcoming titles for May and there is no sign of Lady Attackers from Hell 4. I suspect it will be released in June. I've seen the trailer for that one and I think it could be pretty good.

JohnM: The Queens Wrath looks very interesting. I like the way the victims start out completely clothed and lose their garments along the way. And I don't see any tats...tats are a major turnoff for me, it seems like they are everywhere.

So am I understanding correctly that this is available in two parts, and that each part is 51 minutes long? That's two victims and over one hundred minutes of GIMPage...right?

----------

There's an interesting Franco flick which carries the original title of Die Sklavinnen (The Slaves), but is burdened with the unfortunate American title Swedish Nympho Slaves.

Among the interesting tidbits is that Franco plays a hoodlum whose task is to torture Lina Romay's character for information. He uses his cigarette to burn her breast, then nearly drowns her naked in the bathtub (assisted by another naked woman who holds her down), and finally leaves her tied to the showerhead until someone rescues her the next day.

How many directors get to torture their wives on-screen?

I've been a bit reluctant to chime in on this latest GIMP Poll. Spanking isn't and probably never will be for everyone, it is basically an acquired taste. Some people will enjoy watching it, others will not. Plus, in my experience, spanking doesn't have to conform to normal GIMP standards (if there are such things) to be enjoyable. It was spanking that initially sparked my interest in GIMP, back in the mid to late 1990s. Although my tastes gradually shifted away from it as I mentioned in a previous post of mine a few months ago, I have slowly been re-developing an interest in it. It doesn't always give me a hard on, but it's doesn't have too. I see spanking as just one of a variety of adult entertainment choices.

Oh, I guess I should chime in on the latest poll since I'm posting. Spanking... from personal experience one of my absolute favorite things. There is nothing more exciting to me, than having my hands tightly bound behind my back, being naked and bent over my husband's knee and getting those hard swats.

I know, my personal taste if looking at pictures or video includes bondage of some type... handcuffs or rope. the guy needs to be handsome... muscular looking... to look like he can give a good spanking. And I want to see hand prints on her bottom. MOST internet spankings don't do it for me.

The girl on girl spankings, which seems to dominate the internet, with their little hands and the light swats is a complete turn off.

I do like spanking. In my early year, when I discovered classic HOM mags in adult stores, I also picked up a few spanking mags that had pics I thought were hot.

The spanking videos I've seen have ranged from pretty OK to pretty lame, I've only seen one where I'd go, yeah, that's the way to it. That was a 8mm loop in an adult store, and I wouldn't know if it ever got transfered to digital. I am not going to describe it though, cause I may want to use the idea in the future and produce an equivalent myself.

Definitely +1 on male spanker. Female butt's may have natural padding, but a bare-handed male spanker still has the strength to make her hurt, even cry.

It had more of a straightforward crime plot - not that it was lacking in exploitation elements, but it did feature more dialog and character and plot than a lot of Franco's other movies in which Lina was cast.

The Spanking Poll: Well, it's hard to say based on some of the mixed reactions we've gotten so far, but the way I count it, it's 7 votes for people who mostly don't care for it and 6 for those that at least like it sometimes. 7-6 is pretty close; a lot closer than what I was expecting.

Of the comments we've gotten, I especially agree on the points raised about why would someone choose to inflict pain on the strictly on the butt when there are so many other better places to go after. I think that's an excellent point. Not that I dislike female butts, especially when they're red and inflamed, but it's not my favorite part of the anatomy. In that respect, spanking is too limiting. I'd much prefer a full body whipping, so we can also torture the tits and the pussy, too.

Distressed Damsel made a statement about really liking being spanked with her hands tightly bound behind her back. Okay, no objection there. But the key part there is bondage. Most spanking scenes I've seen don't have the girl tied up at all. Having the hands tied behind, and then being in the precarious position of being bent over someone's knee certainly would add a bit of helplessness to the situation.

Now, if I'm spanking someone, I don't want to have to use my bare hand. To heck with that, why should I put up with my hand stinging when she's the one who needs to be hurt? Here's a user's guide I found online on what's most effective. Look it over carefully; there will be a test afterward.

Bill K: Wikipedia defines spanking as "the act of striking the buttocks of another person to cause temporary pain without producing physical injury. It generally involves one person striking the buttocks of another person with an open hand. When an open hand is used, spanking is referred to in some countries as slapping or smacking.

"More severe forms of spanking, such as switching, paddling, belting, caning, whipping, and birching, involve the use of an implement instead of a hand."

I've always thought of spanking as using your hand or a paddle. When you start getting out the belt or the cane, that's something different. Whipping someone's ass is totally not what I had in mind when I asked about spanking.

This reminds me of that interactive Japanese whipping game that we have in the Links section. Every now and then I go there just to have some fun. It's impossible for me to play this game without a big smile :)

Sad to hear of the recent death of Jess Franco, but he has certainly left a vast legacy of thought provoking work. 'Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun' is probably my favourite, as it is with many judging by the coverage on this Forum over the years.

Anyway, I can only dream of creating movies like Franco's, but I have posted a third, and for now at least, final story. It's called 'Cara's Oriental Adventure' and you can access it from the homepage URL above or through the 'Gimp Fiction' section. This one is a little different, having a nearly contemporary story line rather than the historical backgounds of the first two stories. I wrote this story some years after the first two and I have to say I think it is much more mean-spirited with just about the most profoundly evil main protagonist I can imagine. If any reader has the slightest empathy with him then please go get some help!

As with the first two stories, please beware that the leading girl is in merciless peril and her suffering will be very prolonged and detailed. It will be exceptionally painful and humiliating for her. There is absolutely no spanking in this story!

I have really appreciated the comments from readers regarding my first two stories and I hope some of you will read and enjoy this opus too. Whether or not I ever write a fourth story I cannot say - life is very full of other pleasures and challenges - but if I do I would be honoured to share it with you.

The Tokyo Reporter has two articles -- one positive and one negative -- on how the Japanese porn industry could be affected if Japan enters the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

I don't know any more than what I read in the articles. Essentially, though, if Japan does enter the TPP, it looks like porn companies in Japan and the U.S. may be competing more directly and would people in those countries would get more access to the other country's porn.

Of course, some Yanks may be shocked to discover how common the "rape" theme is in Japanese porn.

I like spanking more then any other punishment. It's degrading and humiliating. If it's done properly and the victim is OTK (over the knee) she is completely helpless and embarrassed. It's a very personal punishment usually reserved for children and in many ways that can be more traumatizing then full on torture (if you're interested in the psychological game).

What I can't stand is when gimp or wip producers start trying to do spanking scenes (although the same can be said for whipping scenes) and they think they can improve on everything and make it more "sexy". So instead of the woman being put over the knee she's standing bent over the knee willingly sticking her ass in the air or some other bullshit glam pose.

Same thing happens with whipping (Bound Heat etc). Instead of creating a really intense whipping scene with build-up and good acting and realism etc they just try to make it more erotic with thongs and playboy poses that aren't the least bit realistic.

That's why I'm looking so forward to the "Dead But Dreaming" whipping scene. It just looks like a straight whipping like what would actually have taken place historically. Her one leg isn't tied to the ceiling, she's not on her knees with her hands on her head sticking her ass out (like anyone is going to stay like that through a whipping). She's just tied with her arms over her head and her back to the flogger. She's not going to start twirling around like a top and get whipped all over the place. This is just a real whipping punishment.

One day I hope a company like Vermeer works tries makes a movie that has lots of spanking or more domestic type punishments. For instance, a religious fanatic cult leader kidnaps girls they believe need to be "rehabilitated" (sort of like House of Whipcord) and this compound is run like a Juvenile detention center. Spankings given daily with a hairbrush or paddle. Caning for more severe offenses (sometimes given in public), and whippings.

Or some sort of foreign boarding school with a harsh headmistress. Everythings about slavery and vampires these days. It would be nice to see something new. Autumn Born, House of Whipcord, Flowers in the Attic, Schoolgirls in Chains all had interesting plot lines that could allow for some nice F/F spankings and canings.

An answer to the poll... it depends what you mean by spanking. Over the knee with the hand has little appeal for me, and I guess generally I'd prefer my victims bound - certainly I find an implement preferable to a hand. I certainly don't have a problem with beating on the buttocks, though. For me floggings need to be on back or buttocks - I guess for two reasons. 1) I like a judicial or judicial-style punishment. 2) I like the front of the victim to remain relatively unmarked for the bulk of the punishment so she still looks good.

That said, I see great potential in a scenario in which a victim is stripped and has to bend over and take, say, 10 strokes of a cane, counting the lashes herself, with extra strokes being added for breaking the pose or missing the count. That seems to me tremendously humiliating in that making the victim acquiesce to the punishment emphasises how dominated she is.

It seems there may be only a few spanking fans here. I'm kind of surprised, but perhaps I shouldn't be. I can agree that spanking isn't really GIMP material. But neither is it very far removed. Both (when done right) involve fear, humiliation, a sense of helplessness, and inflicting pain on a young cutie who is (if we're lucky) at least partially undressed. Maybe even fully undressed. What's not to like???

gimp 1

gimp 6

As for spanking being "consensual" - well, that's kind of misleading. Take the classic schoolgirl spanking scenario, which has been played out a million times by now in many vids and stories. A young girl is ordered to report to the headmaster's office, where she's informed that she has broken certain rules and must thus be punished. Now it's true that there's generally no use of restraints in this scenario, and since the girl doesn't go running as fast as she can out of the office it could be viewed as consensual. But it's more complicated than that. If she doesn't accept her punishment, she's be expelled from school and the consequences of that would be even worse in the long run. So yes, she accepts her punishment, but she's not doing so willingly. She's doing it because in her mind she really has no other choice.

Bill K said: "The long range implements is a game changer to me because it's more whipping, cane flogging or beating than spanking, which such method of striking buttocks isn't normally called spanking. Especially whipping but I need clarification of the poll question, Ralphus. Does whipping, cane flogging or belt whipping the buttocks area in the poll question called spanking before I change my vote?"

Actually, the spanking community has long recognized the erotic value of not just paddles, but riding crops, canes, leather belts and straps, carpet beaters, hair brushes, and rulers as implements for punishing a fine lady's bottom. Go to virtually any spanking video (or stories) site, and you'll find them all in abundance. And thank god for that, because if spanking was defined strictly by use of a hand, it would do absolutely nothing for me either.

As with GIMP (or any other fetish, I assume), the details that make for a great spanking scenario are both critical and highly subjective. Thus, these details vary widely across videos. For example, many spanking scenes involve applying punishment to a gal's clothed bottom - the gal might be wearing panties, a skirt, or a tight pair of jeans. But the classic scenario (and indeed, the ONLY one that works for me) involves the bottom being bared for the punishment.

Two other details that matter much to me (and no doubt would to many of you GIMPers) are the severity of the strokes and the reactions of the girl being spanked. There are many videos (too many, in my opinion) in which the strokes are laid on in a rather light and playful manner (BORING!). But keep searching, and you'll find plenty of others where the strokes are laid on pretty damn hard. It's well known that after some spanking shoots the models are left with sore, bruised bottoms for a few days afterwards (how can you not be turned on by this thought???).

Similarly, there are too many vids where the girl shows no real reaction while being spanked...either remaining silent and stoic, or emitting a rather unconvincing "ow" after a stroke. I'll be the first to admit that this can be extremely uninteresting. But sometimes the girl squeals and begs, or cries out loudly from the hot sting on her exposed bottom cheeks. Needless to say, perhaps, severity and nice reactions are strongly correlated in spanking videos. There are even some vids where the girl is in tears by the end - in my heart I just know there is a special place in heaven for these girls. You can dismiss spanking as "too tame" if you want, but there is nothing tame about having your ass beaten until you cry on camera.

So for at least some of you, if you say you're not into spanking videos on the basis of a casual look some years ago, you might want to look again. Dig. Search. You may be well rewarded for it.

This is another area where we GIMPers differ somewhat, or at least subjectively experience similar elements differently.

I am honestly not interested in seeing an actress endure real harm. I'd rather believe that after staging whatever punishment is being inflicted on her, she is, if not perfectly okay, at least able to function at something approaching a normal level. Amy Hesketh has spoken about enduring pain for her art - such as having to get a back massage or gulp down a few Motrins - but I can enjoy her scenes more knowing that she also takes precautions.

I would rather see fantasy danger pulled off convincingly...which sounds hypocritical but translated, it means that the performance of the actress, the intensity and mood of the scene, the danger level conveyed and other elements are more important to me than whether the actress is actually hurt.

We had a discussion about this topic once while considering the meaning of the term "sadism". Admittedly it's a gray area...I'm reminded of stunt performers who risk their fool necks, suffer injuries and on rare occasions lose their lives, all to make a scene work. But what makes a scene "work" may mean something different for me than it does for others. Seeing an actress' back or butt (or heaven forbid, breasts) covered with ugly "real" welts is a turn-off for me.

But I understand that there are actresses who are willing to undergo this kind of treatment in order to make a scene work for others. I just don't purchase or subscribe to their products.

What do others think about that?

Thanks YikYakker, I knew I had seen that movie, but it was a long time ago, and as you said, the movie wasn't Barbarian Queen by any stretch of the imagination, other than the bondage scenes with the model. I wish more of the Playmate centerfolds were into these type of roles. I know some have done movies, but I don't think that many have done roles where they get tied up and raped. Too bad!

Thank you clarification of the poll question Ralphus and I will stay with my no vote now.

The gimp's buttocks are able to take much more abuse than any other part of the body and where else can you use a paddle or non bending hard cane or stick? The toughness of the butt cheeks allows for more painful powerful striking implements that can not be used on any other part of the body so it's the tough poll question to give a yes and no for sure. I got tired of waiting for an elaborate and well planned production where a redhead heroine gets publicly whipped. I don't think such a thing will ever come :).

So having a free day and nothing better to do, I played with Skyrim mods and Anime Studio and did it myself. Of course, I found out how hard it was to make anything lengthy and elaborate that still looks remotely decent, so it devolved into a short piece of a scene that I just thought was fun if nothing else. I also find myself wishing the terrible thoughts there was no job and kid to distract from me learning a software really well and doing something really good with it.

Markee I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly. I can think of only a few sites that supposedly cater to our sentiments but ever get it right.

I also know well of the sites that never seem to get it right. You mention Boundheat but I don't see them as big of a culprit as say Pain4Fem or Paingate. Based on its forums Boundheat actually knows its relatively lighter audience and responds to what they want...we're just not the audience unfortunately. The other sites I mentioned, well they're the "harder" ones and I can't imagine who they're supposed to be for if not people such as us... but they make many cheap directional mistakes and produce the aforementioned "bogus" medieval stuff where the legs are tied into the air, spinning like tops, butts are sticking out to take the punishment willingly and so on...

Well, sure, you don't want to see the actress really get hurt if she's playing a role in a movie. For instance, I was the one who commissioned that Amy get roasted on a spit over hot coals in Maleficarum, and I would have felt horrible if she had really gotten burned or overcome with smoke during the filming. But she took precautions and emerged relatively unscathed, except for some major bruising where she was tied and some overall soreness afterward. Suffering for her art. I appreciate that.

But on the other hand, it excites me more to know that what I was seeing was real...it wasn't a skillfully portrayed illusion. She really was being roasted and feeling the heat. And in some of the bondage films I've seen...particularly the Attackers ones from Japan where Randa Mai is laying the whip onto some poor waif who's tied to the ceiling and I know those red welts are real and the girl is really suffering...that's a big turn-on, too.

I like to see pretty girls suffer. I don't mind admitting it and I don't feel any guilt for it. I hope she got compensated well for being tortured and abused on camera. Yeah, she will likely be marked up a while after the shoot is over. She obviously must be into it enough that she's willing to do this sort of work. No one is forcing her. All I can do is hope she recovers quickly enough to get back on her feet...so she can be tied up and tortured again next time.

Getting ready to shoot a big scene.

We started April preparing to shoot a big scene for Dead But Dreaming. Jac was planning to shoot that scene for the second part of the trilogy, but something happened on the way to the final cut of the movie.

The creative process is such that sometimes, if not most of the time, the film itself begins to dictate what to do. That happened to Jac not long ago. He was in the middle of cutting some scenes when the film cried out for Mila's scene, or part of it, at least.

That led to a sudden decision. To shoot the scene that was held back for the next part of the series.

In Amy's words: The scene will be somewhat elaborate, it's the story of how Mila Joya's character, a slave who is falsely accused of theft, whipped and crucified for the enjoyment of her mistress's guests, becomes a vampire.

Jac and Amy went location scouting and Amy captured the event on her iPad. She posted the result in her Youtube channel.

The scene will take two days to shoot at that wonderful location and it should not take too long to cut it into the already edited movie. We're planning to shoot it at the end of April or first weekend of May. We will have the scene ready then and the final cut of the movie will finally move ahead. We're also having the music scored, doing the sound mix and color correction.

Jac expects to have a final version of the film by the end of May, beginning of June. We're looking at a July release.

I remember one time, a while ago, one of Camille's fans wrote to me in a tone that I thought was very concerned and not without certain aggressivity, inquiring about Camille's health after seeing one of the videos. At another time, another of Camille's fans wrote to her asking her how long does it take to heal after being nailed. My point is that we do make things look too real and in some cases the stars of our movies do suffer for their art, as YikYakker: reminds us: Amy Hesketh has spoken about enduring pain for her art - such as having to get a back massage or gulp down a few Motrins - but I can enjoy her scenes more knowing that she also takes precautions.

What we would never do is to put anyone in extreme danger. Amy puts it thus: what we do is not different from what extreme sports enthusiasts do. They run risks but do it with proper precautions.

The most extreme case in our productions is, without a doubt, the roasting scene in Maleficarum, as Ralphus notes: I was the one who commissioned that Amy get roasted on a spit over hot coals in Maleficarum, and I would have felt horrible if she had really gotten burned or overcome with smoke during the filming. But she took precautions and emerged relatively unscathed, except for some major bruising where she was tied and some overall soreness afterward. Suffering for her art. I appreciate that.

Amy suffered for her art in that occasion as in many others, but she was never in extreme peril, more like reckless endangerment, and the entire team was ready to act if it became necessary. However the coals below did their work as the ropes did their's. In addition the heat of the sun was on her as well. She was being cooked alive. The fact that the suffering was real to a large extent, even if she was never in mortal danger, still the distress was. Ralphus notes again that: on the other hand, it excites me more to know that what I was seeing was real...it wasn't a skillfully portrayed illusion. She really was being roasted and feeling the heat. ...that's a big turn-on, too.

She's willing to take some risks, while Jac will work to minimize them.

YikYakker asks How many directors get to torture their wives on-screen? A question that could be expanded to, maybe, girlfriends, lovers, meaningful others? Do I know any? Do I?

Gog has this to say: Amy's so beautiful! I'd love to get a custom scene with her but I'm pretty sure it'd be more than I could afford. She's pretty much my perfect girl. Soft, feminine, beautiful, sweet, pretty, those beautiful doe eyes, smart......and most of all, kinky. :-) Keep buying those lottery tickets I guess. :-) Well, there are ways in which a group of people with similar interests join together to make their dream a reality. A collective kind of contribution. We're wondering if that would be an effective way of financing movies that demand more than we can afford to invest in one production. Many independent filmmakers and even studios, are actually gathering funds by appealing to their fans. We're considering this method as well. And it's simple. It's called "crowdfunding".

Amy has a very intense, expensive scene for her next production. It involves a lot of extras and actors, a fiery pyre, a far away, great looking location that we must rent for at least a week, all the transportation and lodging for our cast and crew and so on. If I'm not mistaken, the cost of that scene alone is probably half of the total budget of the entire film. And it requires cash, all the cash we can get our hands on.

So, if you want to see sweet, pretty, smart Amy going through an amazing and public ordeal, well... you can be part of it with as much as you can afford. We'll have the details of how to go about this soon. Amy is setting it up.

And for those who, as Dr Yuya, got tired of waiting for an elaborate and well planned production where a redhead heroine gets publicly whipped. they won't have to wait too long. Such scene is coming soon in a movie titled Dead But Dreaming.

One frustrating issue for us is TIME. not the magazine. Actual TIME, wouldn't it be nice to have an idea and having it realized, materialized, in days, or maybe hours, or maybe minutes? Wouldn't that be really nice? Unfortunately movies take time and money, and depending on how elaborate and well planned is the production, it will involve more time and even more money. That's our reality. There's only one way of overcoming this, and that is putting the money together and working hard, trying to keep an schedule. We're fortunate enough that we can put that money together some of the time when sales are good, wink wink, and that we're sufficiently organized to work hard in trying to stick to an schedule. Not always an easy task, specially because we have so many productions in our plate.

Dead But Dreaming is coming and soon.

And finally a word or two about SPANKING.

I think the definitive film about SPANKING has not come out yet, some may think that Secretary gets the closest, but I don't think so and for many reasons, but very close we have Amy's oeuvre Sirwinakuy. Charles Lonberger of the Beverly Hills Outlook puts it like this: Hesketh creates a parable about a particular woman's growth, allegorized by the use of crowds to parallel narrative developments (a disruptive protest march to signify lead character Anouk's state of mind at the beginning, and a celebratory crowd to - subliminally - cheer the central couple's reunion at the story's conclusion). Hesketh's portrayal of an S&M love affair rings true: sexual congress is assumed by the Dominant, or captor, but is not pushed, though when it does come, the sex is forced. So does her somewhat symbolic depiction of spats followed by make up roses, whose thorns puncture the flesh of their recipient.

In other words SPANKING is about control, not just discipline. C. L. continues later in his review: The script is most successful when portraying the harmony of a man who needs to totally control another, buying her clothes, employing her, providing for food and rent, and his chosen, who, as a "child that refuses to grow up," needs to be completely controlled, and is in constant need of correction. Hesketh's fiction works best when depicting their mutual fulfillment and affection.

It's my belief that SPANKING belongs more in the Lifestyle section, rather than the fantasy floor. We deal mostly with fantasy taken to extremes, but occasionally, like in the case of Sirwinakuy, we tend to celebrate the Lifestyle.

That should be all for now. I hope to have a lot more information next TIME around. The wait for Dead But Dreaming is getting shorter, really.

I'll have more exciting news soon. Until then!

A L Fielden: Thank-you for posting your latest story. Of the three you have written, this is the one I enjoyed most. I have nothing against historical adventures, but when it comes to GIMP fiction, I do prefer those set in the present day. Also to my liking were the methodical, public and brutal punishments described at the climax. Granted, it took a while to get there, but the journey was definitely worth it. Once again, I recommend your work to anyone who appreciates well-written GIMP stories, especially those which do not hold back on either the imaginative perils or the breadth of the narrative.

And please, do continue your writing endeavors. Very few authors in this genre share your abilities, so it would be a shame for you to hang up your quill after only three stories.

I assume you mean this only if the scene is being performed by an actress who is doing so willingly, and that she is not being coerced, drugged or mentally unstable. If so, how does this jibe with your avowed dislike of consensual GIMP scenes? Don't the real reddened skin, welts and bruises draw attention to the fact that the so-called victim is participating of her own volition?

Personally, I don't want to think that the actress is enduring any form of discomfort. Otherwise, I have to wonder how close to the line the action is. What if the woman is a pain-freak who is pushing her limits and potentially harming herself permanently? What if she was just about to yell out the safe word and lost consciousness? What part of the proceedings did we not see? What questionable takes were quickly erased after the shoot?

I'd much rather know that everything in a GIMP video is fake - portrayed to look as real as possible - than imagine the heroine is suffering even the slightest distress (no matter what, if any, realism that may add). This may be a surprising admission from an admitted heavyweight fan - making me a bit of a GIMP wimp I suppose - but I simply can't tolerate a woman enduring any actual pain for my pleasure (unless of course I'm playing a RL scene with someone).

On the subjects of real versus fake discomfort/pain, danger and risk, I'm in the camp of those who very much appreciate the notion of a GIMP actress suffering for her art. Yes, I like knowing that she's REALLY feeling and flinching from the hot sting of the whip (or whatever). I like knowing there's going to be some sore muscles and genuine welts on her skin afterwards. And for at least some actresses into this sort of stuff, this aftermath not only comes with the territory...it's also part of their personal satisfaction with the experience. I can't speak for Amy, of course, but she has at least hinted that this is true for her.

The risk of permanent harm is another matter altogether. I can't remember whether it was Amy or Margot who told the story here a while back, but during the filming of the public whipping scene for Dead But Dreaming, the whip apparently landed on Amy's face at one point (most definitely NOT part of the script). One can't help being much relieved that it didn't damage one of Amy's pretty doe eyes. As the one who commissioned that very scene, had this (or some other serious harm) happened, I would have wanted to crawl into a hole, never to show my GIMPy face ever again.

Margot: I think it's great that you guys are looking into ways to encourage more funding help for future movies. If I may offer a suggestion for you to consider - how about some way for people to actually invest in a movie, as opposed to just forking over cash out of the supreme goodness of their hearts? In another words, build in some chance that we'd get part or all of our money back, and even perhaps share in the profits?

I haven't thought it through, but the plan might go something like this: If the movie loses money or merely breaks even, the investor gets nothing back. If the movie earns, say, a 10% profit, the investor gets a certain percentage of their money back. A larger amount would be returned should the movie enjoy a 20% profit, and so forth. If the film were to do really, really well, perhaps the investor could even enjoy a small profit.

In the case of Dead But Dreaming, I forked over a good wad of cash purely out of the overflowing goodness of my heart (well, actually it's because I'm a sick fuck who wanted to see his ultimate whipping fantasy on film...but whatever). But the thing is, I would have invested even more had there been some chance I would get least some of the money back. I would have done so quite confidently, because I knew that if you guys even came close to reproducing the public whipping scene I had in my head, that it would get tons of attention and people would be tripping over themselves to buy it.

Just a thought. Any by the way, we're friggin' dying here waiting for a Dead But Dreaming trailer. :-)

The real discomfort/pain or danger/risk of Amy's gimp scenes is not the same for a lady rodeo bronco riders or lady boxers and other brutal sports jobs and hobbies. Amy and other gimp actresses have the easier, safer jobs for sure but much more important to me and other gimpers, the more erotic enjoyable-to-watch job.

I am not diminishing Amy's pain and suffering for her art, just saying there are far more dangerous and painful jobs and sports hobbies out there. Just keeping proper perspective when we talk about real pain and suffering on gimp actresses here. Is it really that bad? Bill K.

YikYakker: The Snowfire clip! Cool, that was one entry I couldn't cap the first time when I put it in the Hot Iron Database. I remember last year when you mentioned TCM was going to run the movie again that you weren't going to watch it because you were sure they would edit this scene out. Not only didn't they cut it, they're even running it on their own website. Ironically, this is the same network that truncated Natalie Wood's scene where she's threatened with a hot iron last week in The Great Race.

Now that people have a chance to see the Snowfire clip, it's obvious it's a sweet, touching little scene, although no one would dare try to shoot a scene like this today. I liked the film, too. I kept it on my DVR. It's a real shame it's been hidden from the public for all these years. Now Disney needs to bring back Song of the South, another classic family film that won an Oscar when it came out, but now is too "offensive" for today's overly PC environment. Totally ridiculous.

All GIMP scenes we watch in movies and bondage videos are consensual. Presumably, anyway. The producer pays the actress, she agrees to perform, and the cameraman gets it on film. If any producer started going beyond what an actress consents to, you can bet there would be lawsuits-a-plenty. Supposedly there were allegations a few years back with an overseas company (Mood Pictures? Elite Pain?) but they're back in business now so I don't know whatever became of that case.

The point is, even though I know everything is consensual, I like to imagine that what I'm watching is real. If the actress cries realistically and she looks like she's really being hurt, I can believe the fantasy. Too many scenes don't pull it off to my high expectations. If the actress is so into the scene that she permits herself to get marked up, good for her. It's all about putting the best product on the screen.

Ralphus: Yes, sweet little Molly McGowan, just as I remembered her, even down to the color and style of the shirt she briefly wore.;)

BTW, that was her real-life dad and sister in that scene.

Poor Molly left this world before she reached adulthood, so sad. She wasn't the greatest actress but gave it all she had. Who knows, she might have pursued her acting dreams and ended up in a GIMP Daily Pic just like Lina Romay.

It's kind of reassuring to know, after all these years, that the scene was real and I wasn't just hallucinating.

---------

Since we're "wrangling" with the issue of reality vs. fantasy: we should be mindful that there is a distinction (at least in my feeble mind) between appreciating the pain that an actress experiences and being aroused by it. I understand that there is a special kind of person who will allow her butt to be turned into raw meat in order to please her audience, and I can dig down deep and muster up some praise for her dedication. But I'm still not aroused by it.

And in the Attackers pics that Ralphus posted, it doesn't make a bit of difference to my little soldier, who will stand up and salute whether the welts on the girl's body are real or fake, as long as the scene itself is exciting and well-done.

Not sure if I was clear on that point in my previous post.

Ralphus: I've got nothing against YikYakker's Snowfire clip, but I strongly disagree that it should be added to the RHI database. Sure, in the context of the film, the scene is "sweet and touching", but if you add it to a list of female peril scenes compiled to appeal to readers' salacious, sexual desires, you are effectively rebranding it (sorry) as something very different. I'd hate to think any GIMP reader's libido gets a charge from seeing an underage girl as a potential victim, but as all the other scenes were included in the DB because they are (presumably) arousing , doesn't it follow that is why Snowfire was added?

In a home-movie, a clip of a naked baby on a bear-skin rug is cute; in the middle of a porn flick, it's something else again. I've already written to you about this in private, but I'll also ask here that you reconsider adding this film to the database.

Okay, so you're a Lee Strasburg fan. But as Laurence Olivier famously suggested to a method-obsessed, sleep-deprived Dustin Hoffman (while they were filming Marathon Man), "Why don't you try acting?". Like YikYakker, I don't normally care what's real and what's fake, so long as the scene is believable. And yes, I do realize all (legal) GIMP videos depict only consensual action.

My point is that evidence of real pain and injury actually shatters the illusion for me because it reinforces that the video is either consensual or illegal. Either way, it takes me out of the fantasy. On the other hand, I think a well acted and credibly filmed scene, even if it obviously relies on effects to sell the GIMPery, will be believable and hence enjoyable so long as there is no indication that what I'm watching couldn't be real. Of course I know it isn't, but so long as it's not apparent, I'm happy to swallow my disbelief.

On another matter, as I'm sure a lot of you have done, I have purchased memberships on various pay sites devoted to this particular theme over the past few years, and I have visited sites frequently that I have discontinued my membership. Is it just me, or does it appear that the quality of these sites, like Dungeoncorp and Kink, is really beginning to go downhill? Its not really that the abuse of the models is old, because there are only so many ways to abuse them, but the models shown now, to me, are really not very attractive, not to mention the tats all over. It looks like they are just putting bodies out there to fuck and abuse regardless of their appearence. I keep waiting for them to improve and give me a reason to join again, but so far, its just not there.

Are there any sites out there that someone could recommend that I am missing? I'm really not into the bloodletting or gory stuff, just attractive women restrained and fucked in various ways

It's sad, truly sad, that a movie clip from a sweet, wholesome family film made over a half-century ago, one that's okay for friggin' Turner Classic Movies, of all places, should have to be banned anywhere. It's part of the hypocritical, self-righteous, ultra-conservative right-wing attitude that pervades our culture and it's something I truly abhor.

On the other hand, the theme of our site and the things we like to watch and discuss are pretty abhorrent to your Average Joe, so that equals things out. We have to be extra careful around here. Why give the feds or anyone else a reason to go after us?

So as much as I'm morally against taking this step, I'm removing YikYakker's clip off the forum. A text-only description will remain in the database. Even though no obvious threat exists, the axiom "better safe than sorry" applies here.

You're good. You win the Eagle Eyes Award for catching that. I had watched that whipping scene from Kiss Me Monster (what a great title!) before and never caught that until I was readying the cap last night for today's picture. Those manacles are twice the size of her wrists! Certainly not the first time that's happened on film, but that's just so, so sloppy.

"Love letters of a Portuguese Nun" - Was it a good bats movie scene, Ralphus?

I really liked it, although BATS lovers who prefer the "climax" of the victim going up in flames might be let down by it. The scene has a lot of what really excites me about the whole burning at the stake process...the cute victim (Susan Hemingway) resigned to her fate, looking woefully at the pile of wood as she is led up the steps, the lighting of the fire and the pan up as the smoke reaches her. From there on, it's mainly just reaction shots of Hemingway tied to the stake with a few hints of flames below, but what's there is quite beautiful.

When I first introduced this topic, I was reliving an ancient memory from my childhood, one of the early influences on the development of my GIMPosity. At that time we were discussing the hot iron database, but it never occurred to me that Molly would actually be seen in it someday. Hell, I wasn't even sure I would ever find the damned movie, let alone the scene itself.

But if Molly is to leave a proper legacy, it should be in the context of the family movie that she and her kin tried to make. So as long as TCM continues to make the scene available on that movie, I am satisfied.

At the same time, I'm still pissed off by what TCM did to the Natalie Wood scene in The Great Race, and my views on that will never be compromised.

Today's Pic: What's wrong with this picture? When I first considered this picture, my immediate thought was "How come Franco's not showing her tits?" Then I looked up and saw what Bill K. successfully identified as the real flaw in the image. Those shackles look like they should be worn around the ankles.

At the same time, there could be more than one thing wrong with the picture. Why is she still wearing panties?

Typical of many movies.

Wrist restraints too big to hold the body up when she passes out. They should be tight enough that you see some blood coming from the wrists when she passes out or they apply some salt to the wounds.

Panties?

We don't need no stinking panties!

If nothing else they should be pulled up into the butt crack in an atomic wedgie.

Things wrong in the picture?

The girl actually crutching the manacles instead of the chain immediately above them.

The hair over shoulders and back (should have been tossed over the breasts; you don't see them anyway)

FLINTSTONE SAID: Is it just me, or does it appear that the quality of these sites, like Dungeoncorp and Kink, is really beginning to go downhill? Its not really that the abuse of the models is old, because there are only so many ways to abuse them, but the models shown now, to me, are really not very attractive, not to mention the tats all over

You should look up Casey Calvert. She's relatively new, but she's done several shoots for various Kink.com sites in just the last few months. A stunning, feminine, all-natural girl, with flawless skin. She seems to really like the rough stuff. Best of all, NO TATS!

Thank you for the "Love Letters of a Portuguese Nun" bats review Ralphus. Is there a movie clip of the bats scene anywhere?

Maybe in today's picture the whipped damsel was probably helpless to stop or escape being whipped given women had no rights back the medieval days when a women could be burnt at the stake for being caught reading a book. She was just holding on to the chain for support so my second answer to "What's wrong with that picture" is women didn't wear panties, especially the bikini kind, back then. Bill K.

For the most part, that's where my head is at, as well.

There are exceptions. I liked the scene where pretty Mai Sakashita got her face slapped in the old Attackers flick, Real World III. As far as I can tell, there's no way that was faked.

I would probably feel the same way about an effective spanking scene (rare as that is). Spankings don't need to be faked.

But when it comes to depictions of serious torture and the inflicting of pain, I have no desire to see a person actually being harmed. Leave the method acting to Dustin and the like.

What happens if you leave the shoes on: An excerpt from a NYT news article...

.... Devices no bigger than a pen cap can be slipped into a coat pocket and easily record through the person's clothing, said Bob Leonard, a retired police officer and founder of the Spy Store, which sells a quarter-sized item called the "Super Mini Covert Wireless Camera" and recording devices disguised as a calculator, cigarette carton or cordless phone.

"Short of having the person stripped down naked, it's almost impossible to detect," Mr. Pollini said.

And not even then.

Carlos Matos, a Democratic Party leader from Philadelphia, recalled in an interview last week how he grew suspicious that a construction contractor was recording their conversation as the two men stood talking inside the garage of Mr. Matos's home on the Jersey Shore. "There was something about the guy that made me feel uncomfortable and I felt like I was being set up," Mr. Matos said. "I told him to strip and said, 'Yo, nothing personal here, brother, but I want to see if you are wearing a wire.'" Mr. Matos said he surveyed the contractor's almost-nude body, even inspecting his groin area. "I didn?t tell him to bend over and cough but I thought maybe he had it underneath his privates," he said. "I was looking for wires and a box." But Mr. Matos said he did not ask the contractor to remove his shoes.

"Little did I know that I was way, way behind on the technology being used out there," he said.

Mr. Matos, who pleaded guilty to bribery in a federal corruption investigation that entangled three former Atlantic City council members, was released from prison in 2010 after serving three years.

My view about an actress enduring real pain while filming a scene:

It is the responsibility of the entire film crew, starting with the director and ending with the construction crew, to ensure the safety of all participants and that of course means that no SERIOUS injuries occur. Beyond that, providing that she has the right to "quit" at any time, whatever the actress (or stunt-person) is willing to do, is her choice; and no one has to feel guilty about it.

And if real bruises or scrapes in filming were categorically forbidden there would be very few "action" scenes filmed at all. Actors and actresses, but more often, their stunt doubles get cuts and bruises all of the time, and for the stunt people it's considered a part of the job they are getting paid for.

It only gets commented on if: there is a catastrophic failure in safety and someone gets killed or maimed, a famous "face" gets injured badly enough so it cannot be hidden from a paparazzi (as happened with Daniel Craig in one of the recent "007s"), or there is some really special requirement which makes it "interesting", in Goya's Ghosts, they had to find a stunt double for Natalie Portman who's shoulders were flexible enough so she could be hung off the floor nude (no possibility to use a hidden harness) in a strappado. And, yes, even for that flexible woman, it hurt! (somewhere I read an interview with the stunt-woman who did that, where she talked about her hardest jobs).

Fritz: Thanks for your kind comments on my latest story. I've really pleased you liked it. Who knows, maybe I'll start a story with my next heroine - Dana or Diana, or maybe.........Doris? Maybe not!

As for contemporary versus historical; for me historical comes more easily. I don't like my stories to be set too close to home and I like them to be part of a bigger picture rather than just a personal conflict. But what is contemporary today is historical in the future and there is (unfortunately) plenty of scope for conflicts around the world at the moment that could bring a rich source of opportunities for stories of atrocities of all sorts.

Today's Pics: Ah, Ursula, what a fine babe you were.

Captive Women is one of the many titles for this flick, and it's probably the best of them.

It's in the review database under the title Linda and is sometimes called The Story of Linda, which is odd because the movie really isn't about Linda. Linda is played by Katja Beinert, and Ursula plays her unlucky sister Betsy who has been abducted. So it's really the Story of Betsy.

Linda is supposed to be looking for Betsy and trying to rescue her, but she spends most of the movie fucking her boyfriend and sightseeing. That's fortunate for the viewers, because it prolongs Betsy's plight, which means more GIMPery, sex and nudity for Ursula. Cool.

Lynn: That was an interesting clip about techniques for kidnap victims to free themselves. I was not aware that someone whose wrists are bound by plastic ties behind the back could actually bring them around to the front, but as Groucho Marx once said, "Are you going to believe me, or your own eyes?"

Rachel Nichols was handcuffed behind the back in P2 and managed to bring the cuffs around to the front, but I figured that was just a cinematic trick.

So remember folks, when you've got her wrists bound behind her back, add another layer of security by attaching the wrists to her waist or neck or some heavy object or immovable fixture. Better safe than sorry.

In response to YikYakker's "... not aware that someone whose wrists are bound by plastic ties behind the back could actually bring them around to the front...

Rachel Nichols was handcuffed behind the back in P2 and managed to bring the cuffs around to the front, but I figured that was just a cinematic trick."

Dan Hawke - the reviewer - seemed to have some problems with that too, saying that after the victim in that film did that, his "Gimp mileage went way down".

But the fact is, any reasonably physically fit and flexible person can bring hands fastened by the wrists, behind back, to the front, in most cases.* Most will just need a minute or two to do the gymnastics without interference - on he other hand a really flexible young female can do it in 5 seconds.

* As with all things, the devil is in the details, if the wrists are fastened together with the palms of the hands together (facing in) it is easier to slide them over the butt (the hardest part of this) than if the wrists are fastened so the palms are facing out. But it can still be done - providing the persons butt isn't fat. Overweight people could have a problem doing this (but the girl in "P2" was not overweight, LOL). However, if the wrists are fastened so the arms come together from opposite directions and are bent 90 degrees at the elbows (a common "Japanese style" tie) one is out of luck. Etc.

Of course, after the hands are in front, there is a good chance that they can be used to free the feet... etc. etc. (even if the wrists stay fastened - as can be seen, plastic-cuffs can be broken; but steel hand-cuffs could not), and then we also saw how shoes can be used... Part 2, to follow.

Most of what Lynn says in response to YikYakker is spot on - during my highly unspectacular thirty year run in law enforcement it was relatively commonplace to have restrained an agile young lady with plasti-cuffs and by the time the ride to jail was over she had gotten her hands in front and had relative complete use of them and that all having been done in the cramped quarters of the back seat of a police car - never had a male do that because of his increased bulk and the limited space but I'm sure in a more open environment he too would have little difficulty with such a maneuver.

The one thing I never saw was plasti-cuffs being broken no matter how strong the person was - guess it could happen with one in a defective batch but the only effective way to remove them once properly in place is with wire cutters - what a good gig I had.

Stay well all

To remedy the situation where a girl could manage to move her hands from behind to her back to in front of her, the Japanese sometimes employ a bondage technique that is commonly known as the reverse prayer, in which the hands are pulled up tight behind the shoulder blades. It's a much more secure position, and probably more painful, too...bonus!

YikYakker wrote:

Exactly. While hands behind is obviously preferable to hands in front, I never feel comfortable with a captive unless she is tied to something. Even something simple like cuffing her with her wrists around a tree or a post will ensure the bitch isn't going anywhere until you decide what to do with her.

On the subject of wrist restraints, I got new clip from Psycho-Thrillers today called Party Girl, Tortured, Raped, & Suffocated Part II.

I don't think I've ever been so disappointed with a clip ever. Especially since potentially this could have been a real winner. First off, it stars Amber Rayne, Miss Queen of Stringent B&D. Next, it's a 4 man gang rape scenario, with a double facial. And third, a totally merciless ending (in true Gimp fashion).

I don't think I even need to put into words what's wrong.....just take a look.

I mean, what's the point? If you couldn't tell, her other hand is in front of her also. She could just about jump rope with the length of that chain and cuffs. Blah, blech, or whatever negative you would care to insert here.

Hello GIMP'ers.

Sorry for the extended absence. Been working to start a new business to diversify out of porn and haven't done a shoot in a while. Might shoot again but at the moment not recruiting. If a model came in and was super hot and wanted to do it would probably do it. The new shopping cart is the same as the old but we had to get rid of the old because it had issues. There is a lot of content that was never put up for sale and DVD's that were never released so as it gets edited it'll get added to the new cart. If the new business takes off we might discontinue sale of DVD's by mail and have downloads only so if anybody wants to get DVD order it soon as you can.

The new business is a windmill business. Will have a small hanging windmill that you hang on a tree branch or front porch for sale soon just got the patent. Going to start a company called the Hillbilly Electric Company. You put up one of these little windmills you make your own power and become a member. It's only a small amount of power but it will charge a phone or run a tablet at the beach or keep a battery maintained. Every pot grower, moon shiner and pissed off backwoods hermit is going to want one. Plus every Sandy victim. It's tax free low voltage you don't need a footer or tower and you don't need a permit. The cost is low enough that it should sell. Working on a Christmas light version. Once revenue comes in from the windmill then the site can be left running and it won't be a requirement to make the house payment and if a credit card processor shuts us down I'll say fuck you to credit card and go to gold. 100 DVD's for an ounce of gold. Download or by mail. If anybody out there has enough money to buy an ounce of gold I'd make that offer now. It's $15 per DVD at the current price of gold, roughly 66% off.

There was too much risk involved in shooting porn and it was only bringing in around ten grand a month. Eventually you get shut down in a business like that because one legal bill wipes out six months of revenue. Won't be shooting custom requests unless everything is paid for and all I need to do is show up and shoot so I doubt that will be happening. The actual cost of a shoot is around ten grand even though the model is only getting a tenth of that. Recruiting is dangerous. You never know who is going to show up and half of them are cops. Party on Comrades! Living under communism isn't all that bad. Ask your party boss....the one behind the bullet proof glass....

Gog: What can I say? That picture pretty much explains it all. I went to Psycho Thrillers site on NicheClips and looked at the medley of pictures they have posted for that show (Homepage URL). To be fair, they do have a similar pic to the one you posted with the long handcuff chain. The rest of the pics actually look okay, though. I like Amber Rayne; she's quite a performer, and no less an authority than John Blakemore says she was the best actress he ever worked with. Makes you wonder if she would have said anything to the people involved in putting together that movie. Like, "Hey, what's up with these handcuffs?"

Here's my theory, though. I don't think, for the most part, that proper bondage is a priority for a lot of the companies that sell through NicheClips. It bugs the heck out of me, personally; in fact, I usually won't buy a rape movie unless the girl is tied up. I know at least some of us here don't think bondage is essential in that type of scenario. As long as she's held down, that's good enough for some of us here. Maybe that was the thinking of the people who made this movie. I love bondage rape but if you're going to do it, do it right.

Here's a poll question to get the board talking.

GIMP POLL:
In your opinion, does it matter if the victim is not tied up during rape scenes? If she is held down, does that count as enough restraint in your book? And do you have a preference one way or the other as to what you like to see?

I'll tell you, guys, there's really no excuse for not responding to a poll question like this. Everybody should have an opinion on this one. Rape is the one fetish that's close enough to being universally liked on this board, even with the wide diversity of preferences among the perverts and sick fucks we have here. We might even send a message to any producers that are reading this board. So let's hear what you think. Everybody take a few minutes and cast your vote.

Held down or tied up - does it matter? And which do you prefer?

Poll question "Does it matter if the victim is not tied up during rape scenes?" It's a must for me that a gimp is tied up and it has to be combined with other dungeon like tortures like rack, whipping, branding etc because rape by itself to me isn't torture or physically painful.

To clarify what I am saying is rape, bound or not, by itself merciless peril? I'm sure in real life rape can be painful but in gimp movie rape scenes I know the actress being raped is not in any pain. Bill K.

It matters very much if she's tied up or otherwise restrained. If she's not, then there is the chance that the victim can resist-scratching, clawing, kicking-and that's for starters. She may be able to get out from under you-and maybe get access to a weapon-maybe even yours, and use it against you.

Nude, bound, blindfolded, gagged, is preferred. The more helpless, the better.

I'm sure you're right there, but.....if they are going to do it, why not do it right?

The way I see it, they add it to appeal to those of us who are into that sort of thing in addition to their base audience. So when they do, and it's not done right, who have they won over? Especially if a person's first purchase happened to be a lame attempt.

Poll question: For me, bound. Held down by multiple assailants can be cool (arms & legs).....but the victim can't constantly be held down. Someone's going to get sloppy, and she's going to yank an arm or leg free. And simple fingernails can be quite the weapon on the assailant's sensitive parts.

Poll question: for me, I prefer the woman to be restrained as it gives more options on what the rapist can do to her and how long it can go on. I guess I prefer tied down as being held down can get tiring for those doing it after a while. Also, being held would give the woman a feeling that she might escape, while being chained or roped would make her feel more helpless.

She has to be tied up, this gives a element of being forced as opposed to consensual. Consensual is not rape at all. The more realistically restrained she is the better. Plus you can humiliate her at will. The victim not being restrained correctly does not do it for me.

Why do I get the feeling we're talking about me?

Sure enough, my answer to the poll question is No -- I don't think it's essential for the victim to be tied up during rape scenes. Some of my favorite rape scenes were ones where the victim wasn't tied up but she was securely restrained by the villains.

In fact, when the woman isn't tied up, I think it gives her a bit more flexibility to put up a struggle, which is always a turn-on.

That's not to suggest I'm pleased with the rape scenes that come my way these days. The Japanese pornographers still make a lot of movies with a "rape" theme, but most of them are simply films with a rape storyline. The actual depictions of the sex acts look consensual, including sexual positions such as cowgirl that aren't the least bit believable.

I'm not fussy about the woman being tied up (although I do like it when the woman is tied up) but I do want to see a convincing scene where the victim is properly restrained. That is very rare these days.

Anyway, I hope I'll get some sympathy from Eda as this poll continues -- because, this time, I suspect I'm going to be the odd one out.

FrancoMania continues. 12 of his films have been posted at the top of the site so far, number 13 goes up at midnight tonight, and more are coming. slob: Today's Pic is from The Sexual Story of O...no, I haven't seen it either. But I think this girl looks cute; I might have to check it out.

----------

GIMP poll: Well, my answer is basically...what Flintstone said. I do prefer bondage in a rape scene because it generally ratchets up the hotness factor in any scene and helps put the M in GIMP. That said (and you probably knew this was coming)...

If you take a still shot of a rape scene - thus taking it out of its context - the lack of bondage may seem at first glance to be a loser. For example, looking at the shot below:

If you weren't aware that this is the rape scene with Jodie Foster in The Accused, you might think it depicts a kinky couple getting consensually but roughly jiggy on a pinball machine.

Today's pics are another example. The first set shows what looks like a torture scene. But I was thinking...if that's O, maybe she's consenting to it. Come to think of it, those chains look kinda loose...is she really tightly restrained? Then the knife appears...wait a minute, is this a kinky game suddenly crossing the line into real GIMPage? The knife is definitely a game changer.

Remember the scene from Act of Vengeance when "Mr. Rapist" finally subdued the lovely victim and forced her to sing Jingle Bells while getting plugged? It was a cool scene, but was she tied up? I don't remember. But I think he had a weapon.

A Canadian wrote: ... when the woman isn't tied up, I think it gives her a bit more flexibility to put up a struggle, which is always a turn-on.

I agree, sometimes what I remember more is the struggle (foreplay) if it's well-done. As in Lipstick. Epic struggle...again I don't remember whether she was tied up or not, but by the time she was subdued, bondage was almost unnecessary.

Sometimes Mr. Rapist doesn't have time to tie her up, if he wants to just jump on her quickly. And if he's got pals and lets them hold her down while each takes his turn, that can work too. Like the pool table rape scene in Gutterballs.

So my multi-part answer to what is, to me, a multi-part question is:

~ Yes, I prefer to see the victim tied up, or chained, or cuffed or otherwise restrained - especially if it means she's going to get her clothing ripped off next.

~ No, I don't think it's essential, if other factors are present, such as intimidation by a weapon, a quick "body-slam", or a "hold-'er-down" gang-rape.

Sexual Story of O: As the source of those caps, I probably should chime in here. According to the IMDB, the official title (if there is such a thing for a Franco film) is Historia Sexual de O (1984). I've seen it under the English moniker - perhaps cut - and it's a mess. The movie was filmed during a period when Franco was at his most prolific, and that's saying something. Between 1983 and 1986, the IMDB credits him with 47 titles - about one a month for four years! With that level of quantity, quality just has to suffer.

Sexual Story of O is yet another take on the Sadean tale of an innocent young thing's descent into sexual iniquity. Franco was recycling a theme he had handled better many times before, but I remember this film proved er... unique nonetheless. None of the actors were Franco regulars, and it was set in the sun-drenched Spanish tourist meccas the director preferred when funds were low. The visuals and sound in this film are interesting if you are a fan of experimental cinema, but distract from any GIMP elements.

The scene from which the pic-of-the-day caps are taken is the only one which may interest local denizens. A naked woman is chained to a bed and is whipped with a mini-mace by topless amazons wearing surgical masks. Remarkably, the victim suffers only some badly applied blood FX, so she is finished off with a rather tame throat-slitting. Apparently this film is available on DVD, but lord knows why anyone would want to buy it.

* * * * *

Poll: After trying for four decades to determine what makes for my ideal GIMP fantasy, I've learned that nothing is essential. When I first got into this maelstrom of debauchery, I certainly considered nudity (or near-nudity) and bondage to be requisite elements of an enjoyable scene, regardless of whether whips, racks, electricity, hot irons or, yes... rape, was the main instrument of peril. I've since discovered that I am a true GIMP non-sectarian. For the most part I prefer restraint of some sort, no matter whether the victim is threatened with rape or any other torment, but I've come across so many counter-examples that having the GIMP "tied up" is not always necessary for me to enjoy the scene.

Today's Franco Pics: Franco made two Eugenie flicks, and I have seen neither. But I'm going to guess that this one is not the 1974 movie Eugenie De Sade with Soledad Miranda; more likely, it is the 1970 Eugenie, and it would follow that this lovely, tormented creature is Marie Liljedahl.

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken.

Sure seemed to be hard to get blood right, not only in Franco's flicks from the period but a lot of others during the same time. The worst was that sickly pinkish-orange stuff that a lot of European film-makers used back in the day. Where was Tom Savini when we needed him?

Not only is this victim beautiful, but fortunately she is not showing a lot of damage to her best parts, the breasts and the face. I just don't like to see those goodies messed up.

----------

Back near the end of March poster Lupan asked about a movie clip (to which a link was kindly provided) but I don't think a response was ever forthcoming. It was right around the time of our anniversary messages so the inquiry probably got lost in the deluge.

But I'm intrigued by the movie. Not really a hard GIMPage scene but a cautionary tale about teenagers drinking/drugging at a party. A girl gets so blitzed she passes out on the floor, after which she gets fondled, abused and ridiculed by a few guys while another fellow takes pictures. They remove her panties and place them on her head. Coulda been ripped from today's headlines.

Anyway, I'm curious about the actress - she looks familiar - and thought I'd post a few pics from the clip to see if anyone out there can provide some information.

Probably from the '90s, given that no one at the party has a cell phone (for taking pictures) and the photographer dude has one of those small disposable cameras, the kind they sell in chain pharmacies. Obviously she is going to become the talk of the school.

So remember, drink responsibly. Unless you're underage - then you shouldn't drink at all.

----------

MAV: Those two AOH girls look great.

But I sure would like to see those skimpy clothes get ripped off of them.

Thinking of one particular classic GIMP scene, here's an added factor to consider in the poll discussion: How does the Yes side feel about a situation where the victim is tied up but the violator isn't human?

(Some people might think I just threw this in as an excuse to post another picture of Lisa. Personally, I have no time for such cynicism.)

Rape violator isn't human? If it's got a penis, it's rape to me.

What about if she's raped with a coke bottle, vibrator dildo or similar device, which would free up rapists to do other nasty painful torture like whipping or branding while she is being raped?

This method of dildo rape and torture at the same time I find more erotic but is the poll question only about penis rape?

I would imagine a masochistic gimp would enjoy this kind of rape more then just an ordinary man on women rape. Any thought on that lady Gimps? Bill K.

A Canadian, you do not need my sympathy, as I don't think that you are really in the minority on this one. You, Fritz and YikYakker (and I join all of you) explain that many other factors are important to the scene beyond whether the victim is tied up or held down. So we all would prefer to see a scene with the other factors right, even if the one factor that is the subject of the poll is not the way that we would prefer it if it were taken in isolation. Basically, then, we seem in near agreement, differing only in what our ideal scene would be as to this one factor. And how often do we ever see our ideal scene such that that one factor controls our ultimate opinion of its effectiveness?

I did one update 4 years ago when I accidentally stumbled upon some male whipping YouTube clips, but I don't intend to actively seek out male scenes. You're not mistaken. Just one of many stunningly gorgeous actresses Franco employed for his films. She was damn hot. If I recall, only one scene of GIMPness, but it was an extended one and of course she was naked throughout. She also gets whipped before having the fireplace tongs squeezed around her neck.

BTW, I'm glad you reintroduced Lupan's clip, since I was curious about that movie, too. Here's the video clip again...anyone recognize the actress or the film?

I like the way you think. Actually, it was none other than our old friend Bill Zebub who did a scene (in his one and only good movie) where Debbie D is tied to an X-frame and given electrical shock at the same time Bill is raping her. Implied anyway, but that's the kind of multi-tasking I can get into.

A "lady Gimp's" thoughts on object rape and torture... having the instrument of torture inserted "inside" the most private, intimate and sensitive place in the woman's body is of course an exquisite psychological torment as well.

That is one of the reasons the electrified dildo is the instrument of choice for most modern physical interrogations of females. The other reasons being, in the hands of an expert manipulating the current it is a torture that can be prolonged almost indefinitely and, "best" of all, in this age of UN Conventions against torture, it leaves no visible marks no matter how long the female chooses to hold out.

As for the rapists hands being free to do other things - in accordance with the well known saying 'got a head-ache' break your arm, you'll forget all about the head-ache' - if the person applying the current knows what he/she is doing, any 'other things' that are done will be irrelevant, the woman being tortured won't even notice.

Lynn, you said "the woman being tortured won't even notice." It was a sexually enjoyable vibrator dildo rape not an electric dildo or anything painful applied to the vagina area I was talking about. I'm sure you are 100% correct if she is really being tortured in a real life torture event she wouldn't even notice. Real painful torture overrides any erotic desires she would get from any kind of sexual stimulating dildo or device. Bill K.

Bill K. ... please make up your mind on what you have in mind...

In your first post you say: "...would free up rapists to do other nasty painful torture like whipping or branding while she is being raped."

In your second post you say: " It was a sexually enjoyable vibrator dildo rape not an electric dildo or anything painful applied to the vagina area I was talking about."

Then you say: "Real painful torture overrides any erotic desires..."

While I could say your last statement is only partly true, I am sure BRANDING is painful enough to override anything else... I must admit I have never been branded or ever want to be either, but having accidentally stuck my arm into a candle flame once, I think I have an idea how that might feel.

But the real problem with branding, a popular medieval torture, is that it was too painful for a "good" torture. Repeated applications of the hot iron quickly sent the subject into shock, resulting in insensitivity and death. I suspect that quickly sending the victim into shock was one of the main reasons why there are so many medieval stories of accused witches and others subjected to incredible torture, but never confessed or talked.

Electricity to the sensitive places on the other hand can be modulated so the subject just suffers for her torment(s) indefinitely. And if she is human, sooner or later, she is going to crack no matter how tough she is.

Looks like I'm always a few days tardy to respond here, things are moving fast on the GIMP these days, which is great! So, catching up... thanks to all for the nice compliments to my person, and concern for my well-being on the set. As I've mentioned before, I would never take a really awful risk that would result in irrevocable damage to my person.

Lynn wrote, "It is the responsibility of the entire film crew, starting with the director and ending with the construction crew, to ensure the safety of all participants and that of course means that no SERIOUS injuries occur. Beyond that, providing that she has the right to "quit" at any time, whatever the actress (or stunt-person) is willing to do, is her choice; and no one has to feel guilty about it. And if real bruises or scrapes in filming were categorically forbidden there would be very few "action" scenes filmed at all.".

That's spot-on for me. We reduce risks as much as possible on the set.

The Polls:
Spanking:áthat would be a yes vote for me if the scene is about humiliation, because let's face it, it's not like any serious harm is going to come to a lady in that manner.
Rape scene:áI could go both ways, but in the scene in Maleficarum, my character was in manacles, and in Dead But Dreaming, my character was also manacled. So I guess I consider restraint necessary for a scene to have more impact.

D. Santorum wrote, "I think it's great that you guys are looking into ways to encourage more funding help for future movies.

If the film were to do really, really well, perhaps the investor could even enjoy a small profit."

We've done this before, and it's an option, we're open to investment. Depending on state laws and such, we can sell up to 49% of shares in a movie to investors. With each investor we create something called a "Limited Partnership" for the movie. However, it's not really viable if we sell $10,000 worth of shares to one person, for example, and then have to spend a fifth of that on an attorney, setting up the partnership. At this point, unless an individual invests more than that, we'd prefer to spend our cash in the movie and cut a few corners.

Crowdfunding is relatively new to the game of film fundraising, but it's catching on fast. People contribute to a movie or project they believe in and want to see made, and they get something in return, or a bunch of somethings.

In the campaign we're launching very soon, there's a range of contributions, $25 gets you a Download of the completed film (a $30 retail value), $50 gets you the Download, plus a DVD of the film (a $65 dollar retail value). In the $25-50 range you're pretty much buying a pre-sale of the film. For larger contributions, you additionally get links to live streaming behind the scenes events from the set, links to a scene from the movie as it's being shot, a copy of the book Olalla signed by yours truly, a tee shirt with a cool graphic of the movie, on up to a special making-of video of the big crucifixion/whipping/burning at the stake scene, and so on and so forth. The more you contribute, the more you get, it's cumulative!

I posted yesterday about the upcoming campaign in the Stakedamsels Forum and Bill K. had some great questions:

Amy you said "We'll have options to help make the scene happen from $10 to $2500" I ask you, are you saying if you don't get funding to do this bats scene then you can't do it? How much $$$ are you talking about for pretty sure including me most of the members here don't have $2500 to donate and is a bunch of $10 dollar donation really going to do you any good? Bill K.

And here's an abridged response: Those are good questions, Bill. We're trying to raise $10,000. So if 400 people contribute $25, or 200 people contribute $50, we meet our goal. Even if we don't meet our goal, the scene will still be made, but we'll have to cut a few corners. Instead of of 40 -50 people in the crowd in period costume, we'll have 15-20, still a substantial crowd. The structure of the scene would remain unchanged and we'll spend all of the funds on firewood. :)

The scene we're crowdfunding for is a huge blow-out GIMP scene set in the 1880's, in my next movie, Olalla. The movie itself is chock-full 'o GIMP, bondage, rape, and the sequence set in the 1880's (the story of what befell the original Olalla) culminates in a mob of angry villagers chaining my character to a cross, whipping her and humiliating her, and then burning her at the stake in a big 'ole blaze. I'll have lots more information when we launch the campaign, but if anyone has any questions before that, ask away!

Just for kicks, here's a clip of some of the behind the scenes action on the set of Barbazul!

Steve Power: áEven though that's sad that you're getting out of the busienss, I would like to have my email added to the newsletter of your wind power device. I could really use one when I'm out in the boondocks location scouting or shooting.

The women in this prison camp are all put to work doing some sort of not-well-defined outdoor manual labor (which makes them nice and sweaty) wearing nothing but hats and Daisy Dukes. Franco really knew how to appeal to our fantasies. Even the guards are topless. *heh heh*

Today's picture: I take it they don't actually show the dog chewing on her in that movie scene. Not that I ever wanted to see something like that. But I did see a movie scene of a Velociraptor eating a gimp. First it chopped off her arm and then it bit into her belly and pulled out her guts while she screamed and watched in horror. Then the scene faded away to another scene never to return. Dogs eating chicks = bad but Velociraptor eating chick = good for me. It's matter of taste I guess. Bill K.

I dunno. I think the dogs do it better. At the very least, their table manners are more refined.

BTW... the chair-bound blonde in Sadomania doesn't get eaten by the German Shepherd, though she probably wished she did. Ironically, later in the film she does get eaten by something else. Some GIMPs just can't catch a break.

Dead But Dreaming is coming soon ... and so many other things to talk about.

A year ago, around this time, we were done with the shooting of the first installment of what Jac hopes to make into a trilogy, our very own vampire epic Dead But Dreaming.

In the meantime we released Maleficarum, Le Marquis de la Croix, Barbazul and all of that required a lot of work and dedication. Jac was editing a bit here, a bit there and finally, at the beginning of the year, he dedicated most of his time to cut Dead But Dreaming.

Some days ago, maybe a month or so, he had a good first cut. He was ready to finish it. There was the matter of the music and the color correction, time consuming but nothing out of this world. But then he had a creative epiphany. He was reviewing the film when he felt that there was the need for a scene he originally planned for the first part but then decided to leave it for then second part. Now he felt that the film itself was demanding it and loudly. Oh the dilemma!

Amy was working on her script when Jac said those ominous words: "we have to talk".

It was during one of their regular walks downtown and back when Jac explained why he needed to shoot the scene now, and not later. "I need it for this part" he said and presented his argument. Amy was surprised at first but she too agreed that it would be good, so they went into the planning of the shoot.

The first worry was the location. A far, far away place with an exotic, ancient, 57 BC look but with something that was necessary... electricity. Jac needs a night scene and for that he needs light equipment, and for the light equipment he needs electricity.

Amy found a place that could be the right place. It was not too far from the city but far enough to be away from the madding crowds and sounds of busy La Paz. A vacation place, with interesting cabins to house our cast and crew during the two day shoot, with meal service and best of all, electricity.

The next thing is the props and costumes and that's when it begins to get really interesting. The most important prop in the scene is the cross. Jac has two ideas he's been considering for a while and since he's a Libra and he likes them both, it was up to Amy to help him choose. The balance went for a Passolini style cross, the one he used in Medea, but with some modifications to fit the scene. One thing is sure, Mila will look amazing on that cross.

The cross will be constructed soon and Amy will be the one to put it together, she already has the technical specs. Erik is going to be documenting it all, he has to write about it as well.

While we prepare the shoot, we're also beginning the promotion of Dead But Dreaming. We have a tentative date for the theatrical release of the film. July 16th, 2013. We might release worldwide the 4th of July. The details are still being worked out. We first need to make sure that the shooting of the scene goes as planned on May 11th and 12th, the location has been secured, and that the theaters and sponsors are all in place for the theatrical release. May will be a busy month. We'll close the date of release next week.

As part of the promotion we have our first teaser with part of the music, not the final music mix. Our composer is hard at work with that, but Jac used some of the initial tests for the music to cut a quick Youtube friendly teaser. It's up on Youtube:

D. Santorum The risk of permanent harm is another matter altogether.

Yes, that's the way it happened, and not only once. While the main camera was shooting a nice shot of Amy's back suffering the rigors of the whip, the camera we use for sound reference captured the moment. The whip is made of leather. If you look closely to Amy's body you can see the welts that appear on her skin, specially on her legs and waist. So imagine the feeling on her face. She was not amused. By the movement of Eric's body, you can tell that he really hit hard.

D. Santorum On the subjects of real versus fake discomfort/pain, danger and risk, I'm in the camp of those who very much appreciate the notion of a GIMP actress suffering for her art.

There is no way of avoiding some suffering in the scenes we do. If Amy is going to be suspended by her wrists, her wrists are going to suffer the pain of her body pulling her down. There are ways of lessening the pain, but not of eliminating it completely. If she's going to sit on the Spanish horse and her feet are going to be attached to weights, there's no way of avoiding the discomfort. And so on.

It took years of practice to learn how to get away with the look of extreme suffering without causing any major damage.

Lynn My view about an actress enduring real pain while filming a scene: It is the responsibility of the entire film crew, starting with the director and ending with the construction crew, to ensure the safety of all participants and that of course means that no SERIOUS injuries occur. Beyond that, providing that she has the right to "quit" at any time, whatever the actress (or stunt-person) is willing to do, is her choice; and no one has to feel guilty about it.

There was one occasion during the shooting of Maleficarum where there was some guilty feeling on the part of Jac and Eric. It was during the flogging on the horse that Amy didn't look like she was acting. The feeling was that it was all too real. Amy had the power to quit at any time, yes, but she was not quitting, it was up to Jac to cry out CUT!, which he did. He stopped shooting to continue the next day, after having a discussion with Amy about it.

Lynn: in Goya's Ghosts, they had to find a stunt double for Natalie Portman who's shoulders were flexible enough so she could be hung off the floor nude (no possibility to use a hidden harness) in a strappado. And, yes, even for that flexible woman, it hurt! (somewhere I read an interview with the stunt-woman who did that, where she talked about her hardest jobs).

I believe that the stunt woman that worked on Goya's Ghosts was part of that famous acrobat's ensemble Cirque du Soleil. Their job is to do exactly that, contort their bodies in mid air for very long time. For us it would be expensive to hire someone from the Cirque du Soleil to do some incredible stunts, so we're left with the actresses themselves to pull out their stunts, to hang from crosses, to be suspended by their feet, like Camille in the Inquisition series, to be whipped, hanged, tortured, spiked, crucified, to be roasted over coals and to be burned at the stake. But always with the best of care, caution and precaution. It is the responsibility of the crew and those who build the torture instruments to make sure they are safe.

D. Santorum Margot: I think it's great that you guys are looking into ways to encourage more funding help for future movies. If I may offer a suggestion for you to consider - how about some way for people to actually invest in a movie, as opposed to just forking over cash out of the supreme goodness of their hearts? In another words, build in some chance that we'd get part or all of our money back, and even perhaps share in the profits?

Amy responded to this question at length. But I can add something to what she said.

Crowdfunding vs Investors? Investing in movies is as old as movies themselves, in fact, that's what we do and to some extent so do most of our cast members. They invest time, talent and beauty in exchange of a share of the profits, something that can go on for years and years. Our producers directors invest all they have too. Having cash investors, however, is a more complicated issue.

One way to invest in films is to simply lay some cash on the table and get to own part of a movie and hopefully the movie will make enough money so the investor can recover the cash. But to accomplish this one must follow certain rules, most of which have to be put down on paper with the expertise of an attorney and that costs money. There are rules too, as to how many people can invest in a movie and those rules vary from country to country and from State to State.

It's not a bad idea, but it's not a simple idea.

Crowdfunding, however, is the new kid in town. People interested in a subject, director, are invited to join in an adventure. The contributions can be as low as 10 dollars and as high as many thousand. Most of the people who put money into this prefer the 25 to 50 dollars input and in exchange they typically get a big thanks, a copy of the film when it comes out and whatever else the producers offer in exchange of that. In other words it works as a presale of the movie to the individual fan.

As you all know, Amy is preparing a campaign for her next movie, Olalla, which will have some great GIMP scenes, particularly one where Amy will be flogged, chained to a cross and burned. Big pyre. That's the plan. More details of this later.

D. Santorum In the case of Dead But Dreaming, I forked over a good wad of cash purely out of the overflowing goodness of my heart (well, actually it's because I'm a sick fuck who wanted to see his ultimate whipping fantasy on film...but whatever). But the thing is, I would have invested even more had there been some chance I would get least some of the money back. I would have done so quite confidently, because I knew that if you guys even came close to reproducing the public whipping scene I had in my head, that it would get tons of attention and people would be tripping over themselves to buy it.

Well, we do have the intention that when all is said and done and we see an overflowing amount on cash coming our way, we would, in fact, start sending some cash back to the individuals who helped make the scene ... and movie, possible. But it's different to share the blessings out of the goodness of our hearts than to have it down on paper giving a large part of the cash to an attorney or group of attorneys who then would comb through the paperwork making sure that nothing has been overlooked and at 300 dollars an hour, on the cheap side, that's a lot in attorney's fees. But if the investment is high enough, then... call the attorneys!

D. Santorum Just a thought. Any by the way, we're friggin' dying here waiting for a Dead But Dreaming trailer. :-)

Just in case you missed it above:

Well, this is the end of my post. I hope I'll have a lot to say in the next few weeks, specially when we shoot the scene for Dead But Dreaming. I will also have more teasers and trailers for the movie as well as pictures.

The owners of the location have approved of their use, it's all set for mid May. We're working on the casting for the courtesans and philosophers who will participate of the Symposia, a gathering of minds and bodies to indulge on the pleasures of the brain and the flesh. One such lady, a slave/courtesan to be, is about to be freed during the night orgies, but she's accused of stealing and her mistress swiftly condemns her to be lashed and to be nailed on the cross. That's the sequence to be shot in May. More public lashing in Dead But Dreaming and a nasty crucifixion.

And so I leave you now with a picture from Barbazul.

I'll have more exciting news soon. Until then!

To rfpix: Thank you for the excellent explanation concerning investing vs crowdfunding. Now, while 25 - 50 bucks obviously can not be treated as an investment; you also state that even 10,000.oo could not be enough to justify the legal expenses of creating a "Limited Partnership". I would however suggest there is a third way too, I'd call it "unofficial investing". In fact, you allude to that with the statement "we do have the intention that when all is said and done and we see an overflowing amount of cash coming our way, we would, in fact, start sending some cash back to the individuals who helped make the scene ... and movie, possible."

Then you say, "But it's different to share the blessings out of the goodness of our hearts than to have it down on paper..." Yes, it is of course different from the legal and enforceability standpoint; but once a upon a time many deals were simply concluded with a handshake and a belief in the honesty (and reputation of) of the other party.

Now, realistically, you will get quite a few 25-50, even 100 dollar donations through crowd-sourcing. But it is unlikely that you will get any 9,000.oo dollar donations that way; that's a little too much for most people to just gift. But, from what I see here, there is a lot of respect for you people: Amy, Jac, Margot, Mila... "out here". And I think that there would be people among us who could (unfortunately I'm not one of those who can, however) provide several thousand dollars and be willing to do it on the basis of your "handshake". I do realize that these kinds of repayments (since there is no legal contract - based on what?) may have some tax implications, but again, that is something to be worked on.

I would suggest one other thought (and I will admit, there may be compelling reasons for you NOT to do this) and that is, a more open discussion, actually a "price list", for contributions to your movie production.

So, what does one have to invest to get a "specially requested scene" - and how long a scene (minutes) does one get for X dollars? And what would be the minimum size for a "handshake investment" and at what point is the investment high enough to quote Margot: "But if the investment is high enough, then... call the attorneys!

Today's Franco Pics: Oh boy, Women in Cellblock 9 is one of my favorite Franco flicks. The actresses do a great job while spending nearly the entire movie completely naked. Esther Studer (the Horse rider) was in a number of Franco movies and was such a good sport. Petite in size, she always seemed to be giving her role everything she had. And Karin Gambier (the "horny" girl) was really hot in this scene. The only thing I couldn't figure out about her was: who stole her eyebrows?

----------

Yesterday's Franco Pics: Maria Rohm was yet another stunning beauty who regularly contributed to Franco movies.

Sometimes she was a blonde...

...sometimes she was a brunette...

...but she was always mesmerizing.

I haven't viewed 99 Women but I see that sizzling Italian goddess Rosalba Neri is also in it.

YikYakker: Nice Maria Rohm pics. I agree, she was one beautiful lady. Franco was fortunate in that Maria was married to his longtime producer Harry Towers, so naturally he got to cast her in a number of his films. And like many Franco regulars, she had no problem with full nudity.

BTW, what was the name of the movie from the first Maria Rohm picture you posted last night, where Klaus Kinksi is holding a gun to her head? That one looks really good, and I don't recognize it at all.

I was looking at Sadomania and 99 Women the past few days to make caps for the site. It's just amazing the high number of really beautiful women that allowed Franco to film them in nude bondage scenes in mainstream movies. The hardest part of highlighting these movies for the site is limiting myself to just a few pictures from each film. Most of these films have multiple bondage nude scenes, a lot more than I was able to feature. Over the past 18 days, we've showcased 18 Franco films, and on this 19th and final movie, I can't hold back any more. There were just to many good scenes, so this one will run for 3 days. Watch for it tonight at midnight.

The movie is a rather obscure and hard-to-find film called Two Female Spies With Flowered Panties. Yes, that's really the title, but don't bother asking for it at your neighborhood Hollywood Video. As far as I can tell, this one only came out on VHS, and the quality is lesser than the previous films I've been running, but it's full of those typical Franco touches like bondage rape and cigarette burning and it's definitely worth seeking out.

Everyone still check out the ZFX Clip of the Week? This week's title is the Penelope Pace classic Guilty, featuring one of my favorite ZFX whipping scenes. Penelope is suspended and given a good thrashing by Rick Masters. As always, the clip is just a teaser, but for anyone who hasn't seen the full movie, it's a solid choice to begin your ZFX collection.

I hope YikYakker doesn't mind, but I know the answer to this one. It's from 5 Golden Dragons (1967). It's been a long while since I saw that one - on TV in the mid 1970's I think. It had quite the cast: Christopher Lee, Brian Donlevy, George Raft... and Bob Cummings! Not surprisingly, it's a Harry Alan Towers production.

Today's Franco Pics: Wow, Susan Hemingway again - looking more mature and beautiful - in Two Female Spies with Flowered Panties. This is another one I haven't seen. Lina Romay and Nadine Pascal are in this as well (I take it they play the two spies); but I think this was around the time that Lina started to let herself get out of shape.

But I would watch this just for Susan. IMDb says that she was born with the name Maria Rosalia Coutinho; the name is said to be Portuguese, although she is often listed as a German actress.

Whatever she's got in her genes, it works for me.

Greetings Everyone,

I was saddened to hear of Jess Franco's passing. He was a great artist and did so many great films and scenes. His taste in women was impeccable. A great pioneer. He will certainly be missed.

Another passing of note which you guys are probably not be aware of, Morty Gordon the founder of Bizarre Video died April 12th at the age of 76. You might not think much of Bizarre, they were pretty soft and very fetishy, but Morty was a mentor who was one of the guys who helped me get a start in this business. I learned a lot from Morty back in the 80's and got to go to New York and work with people like Sharon Mitchell, Holly Rider, Flame and so many other bondage babes from those times. I at one point worked as assistant director to Heri Pachard which is basically a cable rat, but those times are some of my fondest memories. Wild times. Heri was also a great guy, sadly, he has passed on too. Anyway, had it not been for Morty, ZFX would probably never have existed. He was good people and I am sorry to see him go.

If you want to read more about him check out this article on XBIZ.

Spanking Poll: I am probably a little late on this but I like spanking in the course of a movie if its done hard and its humiliating to the spankee. I have done it in movies from time to time but I generally don't focus on it, its like foreplay to some greater event. I have never been a big fan of pure spanking movies.

Rape Scenes: I can go either way on it, I like it both ways if they are done right. Multiple attackers is always a big plus for me.

Girls being eaten: I would rather see them fucked than eaten. =)

Ralphus: Thanks for the shout out on Guilty. Penelope Pace always gave her all on every scene and this whipping scene was no exception.

That's it for now.

I hope this doesn't sound inappropriate, under the circumstances, but it was interesting to read about your start in the business back in the '80s. I don't know much about how you got to where you are today, other than something Ralphus posted one time about how you started ZFX because you believed bondage movies weren't really catering to people with more extreme interests (or something to that effect).

I had never really thought about how you would have learned so much about the industry, particularly detail stuff such as how to manufacture and sell tapes in the pre-Internet days. But now that I think about it, it makes sense that you gained some valuable experience before you started your own company.

It's proper that we mourn and praise Jess Franco at this time. But let's remember that his torch is being passed to another group that is doing a good job of following in his footsteps. Amy and Jac and their colleagues will soon be unveiling Dead But Dreaming, and I'm looking forward to that. In the meantime, let's take a closer look at one of their current offerings.

Barbazul (2012)

Available from: Vermeer Works
IMDb info
Directed by: Amy Hesketh

This, the second movie helmed by Amy, is derived from a centuries-old tale of a man (Bluebeard) who wed and then murdered several wives (successively, not all at once). The movie updates the narrative to modern times and gives the central character the name Barbazul (Barb = beard, azul = blue).

Soledad (Mila Delicia Joya) is our portal to the story. She meets Barbazul (Jac Avila) while working as an assistant to a fashion photographer who verbally abuses his staff. (On one occasion, the photographer is displeased with Mila and calls her a "nappy-haired cunt." Yikes.)

Barbazul rarely appears without his black scarf

Barbazul is attentive to Soledad, treating her to dinner and learning about her background, including the fact that she is without parents and working to support her younger sister Ana, who is a student at the university. Mila plays Soledad as shy, quiet and fidgety (a lot like a girl I dated back in college), but once she gets in the sack with Jac, she's hotter than picante de pollo.

Barbazul proposes marriage to Soledad, and she agrees. They inform Ana that they are engaged and that Soledad will be moving away to Barbazul's mountain estate in the countryside, but that Ana's needs will be addressed and she can visit Soledad whenever she likes. Ana replies, quite bluntly, "You are buying her. Do what you want." Hmm.

So off they go, up the long and winding road to Barbazul's aerie in the faraway hills. What a spread. Huge hacienda, loyal but furtive butler Walter (Roberto Lopez) to take care of all their needs, and all Soledad has to do is eat, sleep and fuck her fiance.

One day, Barbazul informs Soledad that he is going away, to the big city, to take care of some business. Soledad wants to join him, but he says she cannot. However, he announces that he will be bringing back her sister for a visit. He gives her a shitload of keys on a ring and tells her she has the run of the house, but she must not use the one key that allows access to a particular room whose purpose he does not explain. Geez, that's like tying your dog's leash to a tree and then throwing a Frisbee that he can't chase.

It's no surprise that Soledad gives in to curiosity and explores the forbidden room. She finds a small journal, and upon reading it, learns that Barbazul had several fiances before her, all of whom were brought to the same estate and were murdered by him. The story is then told in flashback.

First, Barbazul is seen observing a photoshoot with Annabel (Veronca Paintoux), a model who is starting to feel she is nearing the end of her career. When Barbazul courts her and then proposes marriage, she readily agrees.

At first, I thought these two crazy kids were going to make it work

He takes her to his mansion, but soon their relationship sours. After she announces that she wants to go back to the city, perhaps to teach modeling, he decides he would rather kill her than lose her. He strangles her on the bed, using a long black scarf that she had given him. Jac shows some real emotion here; but is his character feeling loss, remorse or self-pity? Probably more of the latter, because after killing her, he climbs on top of her naked body, spreads her legs, and boffs her. Didn't see that one coming.

Afterwards, Barbazul sits outside the bedroom in a morose state. Walter the butler sees him, investigates, and tells him, "I can help you with this." From then on, Walter becomes an enabler for Barbazul's murderous habit, helping dispose of the evidence. Barbazul removes the engagement ring from Annabel's finger and saves it for his next lover.

At a lounge, Barbazul meets Maga, a sultry blues singer whom he likewise brings to his hideaway. But Maga longs to get back to her band and her singing. When she announces that she is going to a concert without talking to Barbazul first, he stabs her in the abdomen. She stumbles out to the balcony, bleeding profusely, until Barbazul unwraps his scarf and finishes her off. Walter again arrives to clean up the mess.

Then Barbazul encounters Agatha at an art gallery and brings her to live with him. At the hacienda, things are going well until Agatha suggests to Barbazul that once they are married, there will be no more need for Walter. Uh-oh.

That night, when Barbazul ties her to the bed, she is initially intrigued, thinking that it's part of a kinky game. But then he chokes her with the black scarf just like the others.

The final victim in the journal is "Jane" (Amy Hesketh), a writer of some renown whom Barbazul recognizes as she sits working on a park bench.

Barbazul meets Jane, professional writer and one "smoking" chick

At first they make a fortuitous match, because she likes being bound and whipped and he enjoys making it happen. They top off their BDSM session with sex. Amy is very seductive in this scene, and Jac knows just what to do. He doesn't even have to take his pants off.

"Harder," Amy coos as she's whipped. So far, this is consensual

One evening, Jane sits working outside when Barbazul approaches her, a bit irritated that he has had to search for her. "I have your toys," he says, and tells her to come to bed. Jane wants to finish scribbling in her notebook and tells him she'll be there "in another minute." He doesn't want to wait; over her protests, he pulls her to her feet, ties her wrists to an overhanging tree, and yanks her clothing down. She complains, but then realizes this is no regular bondage session as Barbazul repeated whips her ass roughly. The whip curls around her body and hits her in the front. She cries, "Stop! What are you doing?" but he only stops to put his black scarf to work. Jane utters gagging noises as the blood pools in her head, making her face red.

Thinking she is dead, Walter wraps Jane in a large plastic sheet and prepares to bury her. As he and Barbazul shovel dirt on top of her, a close-up of Jane's face reveals that she is still breathing. Too late.

Finishing the journal, Soledad remembers that Barbazul is returning with her sister Ana. When the two arrive, Soledad wants to warn Ana that they are in danger. But Barbazul insists that they sit down to dinner immediately.

At the dinner table, Barbazul senses from Soledad's silence that she disobeyed him and entered the locked room. After confronting her, he rises from the table, positions himself behind her, and prepares to use his deadly scarf. Then, something unexpected occurs: Ana also moves toward Soledad, and helps Barbazul's efforts by tying Soledad's wrists to the chair. Soledad is then bagged as well as choked, and we watch the bag inflate and deflate with Soledad's last respirations.

Ana removes from Soledad's dead hand the engagement ring that has passed to and from the fingers of Barbazul past fiancÚs. She places on her own finger.

But Amy's film does not end until she has delivered one more twist in the tale, which I will not divulge.

As a movie Barbazul has a lot going for it: appropriate casting, performances that range from good to excellent, beautiful scenery and cinematography, plot twists and a musical score that is both ominous and infectious. It's a subtly detailed, multi-layered film that reveals more with each viewing. Amy put a lot of thought into this.

GIMPwise, it has five attractive victims who all die via strangulation by the same black scarf; however, there is a slight variation to each murder. Annabel is fucked afterwards; Maga is stabbed first; Agatha is tied to the bed (topless), Jane is tied AOH to a tree, stripped, whipped , strangled and then buried alive; finally, Soledad is strangled and bagged while tied to a chair. Of the five scenes, the torture and death of Jane is my favorite. No surprise there, because Amy's experience ensures the delivery of good GIMPage with a fine payoff. And damn, she looks as hot in this movie as I have ever seen her.

As a villain, Jac displays some emotion during and after the first murder; thereafter, killing becomes something he does more coldly and routinely. It's as if getting away with the first murder gave him license to do more. His motivation is not spelled out, but it becomes clear that he has serious issues with women who think and act independently.

I'd not seen Veronica Paintoux before this, but I was very impressed with the credibility of her performance. Veronica is slender, with an elegant look and feline quality about her. She fit the role of a mature, successful model perfectly, and her interactions with Jac hit all the right notes. Her GIMP scene was also well-done. I hope we get to see more of her in future productions.

Maleficarum was built on a story that provided an opportunity for virtually non-stop torture of naked women. By contrast, Barbazul focuses more on the storytelling and the GIMPage is more episodic, although fatal in every instance. It's possible that you may even be able to watch this one in the company of one or more very open-minded acquaintances. My Grade: B

YikYakker: Thank you for the outstanding review of Barbazul. Reading the review, it's obvious you dedicated a fair bit of time and some serious effort into putting it together, and the high quality of the finished product proves it was worthwhile.

I must admit I was a bit troubled when I read this part: Jac knows just what to do. He doesn't even have to take his pants off.

Hmm. I'm thinking that shy woman you dated in college may have misled you.

Nonetheless, it looks like Barbazul would appeal to GIMPers who are into death scenes and are OK with the price range for the Pachamama Films productions. It's certainly good to see a GIMP film with a number of heroines -- something that appeals to me as my GIMP tastes get more finicky.

Thanks for the condolences, Morty was good people. I learned a lot from those experiences at Bizarre. There is no school to learn this business and back in those days, no book in the library to read about it, no Internet to consult. You had to have the right connections and I was very fortunate to have made those connections.

As far as content, I did want to make more extreme movies, but beyond that, I wanted to make stuff that was more pulpy and sci fi based. Bondage with a purpose instead of bondage for its own sake. You make stuff and hope people like it. If they don't, you won't last long.

YikYakker: My goodness, you really outdid yourself again on your review of Barbazul. (BTW, are you like me? When you read that title, do you immediately think of something different?)

Amy and the gang should pay you for promoting their movies. Even though it's well past the showcase we had at the top of the forum here, nothing should sell the film better than a comprehensive, cap-filled review like the one you posted here. I'm sure that took a lot of time to put together, and it's very much appreciated.

The direct link for your latest review is in my Homepage URL above.

Regarding the mainstream movie vs. fetish movie question, I've seen this film, Maleficarum and Sirwinakuy and I would describe all of them as mainstream films with fetish elements. They differ from the gang's earlier Red Feline offerings in that the story comes first and they're not geared exclusively toward the fetish crowd. In that respect, the Pachamama company has branched out from their fetish roots are now making films that are more accessible to a wider audience. Much in the same way that a filmmaker like Jess Franco made Euro cult films that employed exploitation elements like full nudity, bondage and torture and thus achieved a mainstream following. That appears to be the direction this company is going, which is a very good thing in my book.

Okay, why again the slam against Pachamama's prices? You brought this up when Maleficarum came out a few years ago. I looked at the link you posted and Pachamama's movies are all priced between $19.90 and $29.90. I was at a Wal-Mart yesterday and looked over a number of new release DVDs they had for sale. There were a few new ones that retailed for $14.95, but most of them were priced right around the $20-30 range...just like Pachamama's. These are professional, high quality, independently made mainstream productions that often involve the type of material that would appeal to GIMPers. I don't think in that respect, they are overpriced at all. Maybe if you're used to buying bootleg Japanese DVDs for 6 bucks apiece, they would seem high by comparison.

---------------------------

Rick: Sorry to read about Morty Gordon's passing. I didn't recognize his name, but I rented a number of Bizarre Video tapes back in the day and even still have a few in my collection. One movie that you made for that company, Spellbound, was an early favorite of mine and I could definitely see the ZFX influence even before ZFX was created. I would love to get an updated print of the film, do you know if any of those titles ever got restored for DVD?

It wasn't a slam. I said, "it looks like Barbazul would appeal to GIMPers who are into death scenes and are OK with the price range for the Pachamama Films productions."

If someone takes the time to contribute a review to the forum, I think it's appropriate to thank that person for his/her efforts and to reply to the review. That's particularly true in cases, such as this one, where I know the writer put some real effort into writing a first-rate review.

I would thank a reviewer who made such an effort, even if the movie that was reviewed caters to a fetish that may not appeal to me (eg., spanking) or perhaps is aimed at an audience that spends more on GIMP films than is spent by a tightwad like me.

That movie, SOE-878, is available through other sources such as aaparadise.com.

I would point out one thing: That movie was filmed after Yuma Asami, one of the two stars, had slimmed down. In my opinion, she lost too much weight.

There's a scene early in the movie where the villains force her to strip. As she gets naked, I felt she looked a bit too scrawny. Even her boobs aren't as big as they used to be. Personally, I preferred Yuma when she had more curves.

Her co-star, Akiho Yoshizawa (on the left in the picture below), is as hot as ever. She's thinner than Yuma but I think she looks a bit more toned. Maybe Acky is just better suited for a slim frame.

YikYakker - Thank you very much for that fine, comprehensive review of Barbazul! I don't mind waiting for something so great. I thought that maybe you hated the movie and were sparing me the humiliation of a complete pan. I'm glad it turned out to be the contrary! And thank you for comparing us with the late, great Jess Franco. With 300(?) films under his cinematic belt, we have big shoes to fill. I'll get cracking right now.

BTW, Mila was very pleased with your comparison of her to that spicy Bolivian dish. In honor of that, the entire office had picante de pollo for lunch today. It was tasty.

A Canadian - As Ralphus wrote, our prices are in the same bracket as other films, especially independent/foreign films. I know you miss the rentals, but we started losing money by providing them, when our bank hiked their charging fees. You can blame corporate America for that one. If we were a larger company, our rates wouldn't be so high. Let's hope we grow to that point!

Gog - Thanks for thinking so highly of the movie. Yes, Barbazul debuted in movie theaters to mainstream audiences, and was shown in the Fenevid 2012 film festival (and I hope will be going to more fests this year). In fact, a funny thing happened yesterday, the very day of the debut of YikYakker's tremendous review, the Cinemateca told us that they would like to create a Bluebeard film festival around Barbazul. Apparently they're now feeling magnanimous. That was a good day for me.

Ralphus - Thank you for the praise of our trajectory. Back in 1997 Jac all but abandoned more mainstream cinematic pursuits in favor of making fetish films. Why? They sold, and he was having a hard time funding a big budget movie he wanted to make after the success of his TV miniseries. Now, we're going back to mainstream (without losing the GIMP) and having pretty good results. That's due to the wonderful people who buy our films and appreciate our work, and the fact that there's a niche for mainstream films with fetish or GIMP elements now. And we have the passion to make those kinds of films. We can thank digital cinema, Jess Franco, indie movie theaters, the internet, and 50 Shades of Grey for the wider acceptance of films with fetish and GIMP.

I completely forgot to mention in my posts before that we finally have the DVDs of Sirwinakuy, Barbazul, and Maleficarum up on Amazon.com in the USA and Europe. I was on tenterhooks waiting for their acceptance, especially Maleficarum. Apparently the people in charge of these things are GIMPers.

Here's the trailer of Barbazul again just for kicks:

I would love to get an updated print of the film, do you know if any of those titles ever got restored for DVD?

Thanks for the condolences, Morty was one of those unsung heroes of the industry. Not many people know him now days, even within the business, but of course they all know Bizarre and he was the guy who started that company.

As far as I know, neither Spellbound nor any of the movies I made for them have been put on DVD. I believe they bought limited rights for VHS duplication and that lapsed after 10 years so I think the copyright reverts to me. I dont think it's even in their catalog anymore but its certainly possible. It was never a big seller for them for whatever reasons. I may re-release it one day if have the rights.

Reactions to the Barbazul review...

Amy Hesketh wrote: ...thank you for comparing us with the late, great Jess Franco. With 300(?) films under his cinematic belt, we have big shoes to fill. I'll get cracking right now.

It's true that Franco made over 200 movies; but some of them were pretty crappy. If you can make 100 great movies, we'll be satisfied. ;)

A Canadian wrote: I must admit I was a bit troubled when I read this part: "Jac knows just what to do. He doesn't even have to take his pants off." Hmm. I'm thinking that shy woman you dated in college may have misled you.

I probably should have flagged that as a tongue-in-cheek comment. I know that both Amy and Jac are particular about the scenes they shoot and wondered why she was naked while he was fully dressed. In a few other scenes in the movie, Jac is seen in various states of undress while boffing his babes (at least while they were still alive), so I just figured it was in the script that way and that artists have their own reasons for doing things in a certain manner.

But don't get me started on the big shoes Amy was wearing while naked in bed.

As for my college days, none of my dates ever asked me to have sex without taking my pants off. But at least back in those days, blue jeans were introduced with button-down flies, which greatly reduced the hazards associated with attempting to do such a thing, had my date insisted. ;)

Gog wrote: ...should this have possibly been reviewed as a "Mainstream" movie? And if so, would your rating be any higher as such, rather than a fetish movie?

A very good question. I try to review each movie on its own terms, whether it's a Powershotz clip, a mainstream movie, or whatever. That always requires at least two viewings: one to get the gist of what the movie is trying to accomplish, and the second to get the details right.

In this review, I cautioned about expecting a Maleficarum-like non-stop GIMP-fest so folks could be clear on what kind of movie this is: a story, in several episodes, with GIMP-death scenes attached to the end of each episode.

I asked myself a few questions, as I would with any review...

~ What did the movie set out to do?
~ How well did it accomplish its goal? What worked well (IMO) and what did not?
~ What does the movie offer GIMPers?

...and graded it accordingly. So in response to your question, I gave Barbazul the rating I thought it deserved, based on its own merits.

[Incidently, under my grading scale, a B = "must see"; an A = "must own".]

While the movie is offered to the public as "mainstream", it clearly belongs in its own category, much like the works of Franco. Amy's works, like Franco's, stretch the notion of what is presented as mainstream.

If this movie were to be submitted to the MPAA for a rating (in the U.S.), my guess is that it would have trouble avoiding an NC-17. But I'm interested in what others have to say about that.

Yeah, I did think of Barbasol, and then I thought about the shaving cream can that Wayne Knight used to smuggle dinosaur DNA out in Jurassic Park. So now my stream of consciousness is logically moving toward the anticipation of a new blockbuster sequel: BarbaSaur! (in 3-D, of course)

Ralphus - Lol, nice Barbasaur! There have been many uses of the word (or term) "Barbazul". Back in the way back (you can get there in your WayBack Machine), the news media began to refer to any male serial killer of women as a Bluebeard or Barbazul (depending on the publication language). Thus we have the John Caradine Bluebeard, who has no beard at all. If his hair is blue, we'll never know as the film is in black & white.

"Bluebeard" is a 17th century French tale for children. In the 19th century, there was a hilarious musical about it by famous composer Offenbach. Here is Bluebeard's entrance with a very approximate translation of his song :

Another beauty among beauties. Why does fate send me these women that accidental deaths soon take away from me ?

My first wife died. I never knew why. I am also still crying the second, third and fourth.

The fifth was dear to my heart but last week to my great surprise for no reason she was also taken away from me. This is horrible. Sort of.

I am Bluebeard. I do marry. Then I am a widower. I feel so merry.

Investment, costume video, crowdfunding... the ways of production in the 21st century.

A lot is happening these days, we're preparing to shoot Jac's scenes for Dead But Dreaming. We are setting the theatrical release date of that Vampire epic, City Hall is considering sponsoring the event during the city's celebration of its revolution. Dead But Dreaming takes place during the gestation of that revolution in 1805.

But that's not all. A new review and an interview with Amy appeared at the online site Obscure DVD and Videos Blog. This time they reviewed Le Marquis de la Croix. They previously reviewed Maleficarum.

The comparisons are amazing: Jac Avila is again excellent as The Marquis. he knows how to put his all into the part and he reminds me of the late great Klaus Kinski. Mila is gorgeous and makes a very sexy and helpless woman who has chosen a bad fate for herself, and then there is Amy Hesketh who as I mentioned, has a surprise at the end of the movie.

And of course: If you like exploitation much like the Franco films of the 70's, then this is a film I would highly recommend you see. it came out on my favorite day of the year which is Halloween which was perfect timing Amy, thank you. See this movie....it is very well made and Amy shows a lot of promise as her star keeps rising.

But the high point of the month is the interview with Amy that appeared in Fangoria, the great horror film magazine.

INTERVIEW: AMY HESKETH Next time you go someplace like Bolivia, you may run into one brave actress/filmmaker.

To Amy and us this is a huge deal. I remember when Jac took me to a famous comic book store in New York, in the corner of Broadway and 12th Street: The Forbidden Planet, Jac's favorite store where he could look for Conan the Barbarian, Gor novels, Pichard's graphic books and Fangoria.

The year was 1989, during my first visit to the Big Apple. He mentioned then that he would love to be on that magazine some day. Well, he's mentioned in the magazine now because the interview is about Amy's directorial efforts and her role in Maleficarum, thus the "brave" comment about her. They are going to be reviewing the films too. Amazing, indeed.

So, if you happen to come across a comic book store so where in the US, get a copy and read the interview. We won't be getting our copies until much, much later, when they happen to arrive here. It's a historical issue, of course, a collectible. It marks the time when we broke into the larger mainstream world of the horror genre.

Well, a discussion seems to be brewing on the particular topic of investing vs crowdfunding. And why should be this of any interest to the larger world of Gimp? Well, I can sum it up with an anecdote related to me by none other than Jac himself.

There was a time that he wanted to see some good Gimp. It was not easy to find, not where he was growing up, even if then comics supplied a lot of what he was looking for. Comics like Jungle Girl, Tarzan, once in a great while, and others. He would check the movies, of course. There were some Italian Roman Empire movies, some Christian epics, once in a great while, etc.

At one time there was an Italian film. Jac saw the trailer, at the movies, and for a split second it showed a woman tied to an X cross being whipped. He had to see that movie. He was 15 or so. He didn't have the money to see it that day. Some days before he learned a trick. It was simple, he learned how to revive a fly.

He called his father and asked. Would you give me 5 pesos if I resurrect a fly? His father responded I'll give you 20 pesos if you revive a fly. So, Jac trapped a fly, drowned it and laid it on a dish. "Is the fly dead? he asked. His father saw the fly and yes, it was dead. "Light a cigarette" Jac requested, respectfully of course. His father took out a Derby and lit a match. When the cigarette burned a bit and Jac had enough ashes, the future gimp filmmaker began to cover the fly with the warm ashes. After a few seconds, perhaps a minute or so, the fly began to shake its wings and a bit later got up and flew away. Jac had his 20 pesos and could go and see that woman tied to an X cross, suffering the whip, and he had some extra money to take his girlfriend and for some candy.. and some leftover.

The moral of the story is: Jac was willing to do anything to get the money to see what he wanted to see.

So, when JJ and Camille were working on what you now know as The Via Crucis of Camille, Jac had an epiphany. He commented it to Camille. "Do you know that people would pay good money to see these tapes?" She said. "really?" ... Jac's answer. Yes, if we made one movie like this, we could sell it well. Camille: Why not? ... Jac: Really? would you be willing to do it? Camille: Of course. They made Red Feline on the Cross with the purpose of selling it.

People bought it, lots of people. Many people commented that they were very happy that finally something was made that was exactly what they were looking for all their lives. He knew he found an audience. Jac was looking for something like that all his life, just like his new found fans, until he decided to do it himself.

The question is What are you willing to do to get what you want?

At the beginning of Red Feline, we put the price of the tapes at 49.99. There was an average of sales. Someone wrote to me: Don't sell it so cheap, there's nothing like it anywhere. So we raised the price to 70 dollars per tape, plus shipping. The average sales didn't go down. People were willing to pay that much to see that movie. It is, even to this day, still the movie that sold the most. Maleficarum is closing in but Red Feline on the Cross still adds to its numbers and proudly holds the Best Seller title.

Times have changed since then, still, what is our work worth?

With more production values, higher production costs, our work is looking better and better, if I say so myself. But it's not me who has that opinion, that's the message I'm getting. So the question is how to finance our movies to make them look better and better and that's where this discussion is going.

Lynn Thank you for the excellent explanation concerning investing vs crowdfunding. Now, while 25 - 50 bucks obviously can not be treated as an investment;

Amy said that a contribution of 25 to 50 bucks brings some perks, one of them is the actual movie, so we would be pre-selling the movie to all those contributors. It's not something new. Back in the old days of Red Feline, particularly with the Inquisition and Seven Days on the Cross series, Jac did some pre-selling during post-production. For a lower price people could buy the movie a couple of months in advance. That was good for some time but after having a few titles on our catalogue, that was not necessary. The catalogue kept us afloat and with enough resources to shoot more titles, like Crux Bride and there was enough money to buy new equipment and make two feature films. Martyr and Nocturnia.

Movies like Agent X, Perils of Jane in the Green Inferno, and other Amy movies were bringing in enough cash so we could make a movie like Sirwinakuy and plan to make Barbazul. But something amazing happened during those times, and you're all aware of it. Ralphus offered Amy to put some hard money in a movie if that movie had a roasting scene. He was willing to pay for that single scene. At the same time Jac was planning to shoot an inquisition movie after Barbazul. So there was a perfect match. A roasting scene in an Inquisition movie. And so it was.

So, a custom made scene made an entire film possible. And why is that? There was the plan to make an inquisition movie, but the input of cash helped Jac to make up his mind and proceed with the production of Maleficarum. It was necessary to invest a lot more, of course, but just the fact that part of the movie had financing made things easier and it was inspiring. During that time Sirwinakuy was playing at the Cinemateca for months, so there was some cash flow that paid some of the production in Barbazul, so most of the resources we had were put into Maleficarum and Le Marquis De La Croix

Lynn: you also state that even 10,000.oo could not be enough to justify the legal expenses of creating a "Limited Partnership".

Ralphus' input was not an investment. "It was a custom video", as it is called now. An individual wants to see something specific, with a set criteria, and this individual is willing to pay for it all.

It happened again with Dead But Dreaming. D Santorum had a very specific scene in mind, a public flogging, and he was willing to cover the cost of such scene. In both cases the cash involved was less than $10,000. So, what if someone wanted to put in $10,000 or more? What then? How would we treat such input?

A limited partnership works roughly this way. The production company works out a budget, let's say 1 million dollars, and decides to form a limited partnership for some of that money. (We don't even dream of such budgets, I'm sure that if we ever got that kind of money we would make 100 movies, maybe more.)

So the production company puts half of that budget into assets. So, half a million dollars is the value of the limited partnership, half of which belongs to the production company, the other half will belong to the partners. The half a million is broken into shares of an X value, it could be $25,000 a share. It will depend where the partnership is formed. In New York, for instance, there was a limit, if I remember correctly, of 25 partners. That would be $20,000 a share, which would give the share holder a percentage of the movie. The movie would have to recover the full million before beginning to show a profit which would give each share holder some cash back. You get the point.

In our case we value our work, time, effort as cash investment. We set the value of our work, either as actors, directors, producers, etc, as an investment which is translated into points, which become cash, when cash comes in. Each investor receives a percentage of the profits. Camille, for instance, still gets her percentage of what we sell now. The actual cash investment in Red Feline on the Cross was less than 1,000 dollars. So Jac's and Camille's work was the value of that movie. They still get their percentage. Camille was able to go to university in France without any worries because she had that cash coming weekly. But even this set up is a bit complicated. Agreements had to be made and percentages had to be set and kept.

Lynn: Then you say, "But it's different to share the blessings out of the goodness of our hearts than to have it down on paper..." Yes, it is of course different from the legal and enforceability standpoint; but once a upon a time many deals were simply concluded with a handshake and a belief in the honesty (and reputation of) of the other party.

If someone will come and say I'd like to invest $10,000 in a movie. Not a custom request, no strings attached. Just an investment because we make good movies and the investor might make his money back, but without complications, with a handshake. That's possible but are there people around willing to put out a lot of cash without any kind of written agreement?

Lynn: Now, realistically, you will get quite a few 25-50, even 100 dollar donations through crowd-sourcing. But it is unlikely that you will get any 9,000.oo dollar donations that way; that's a little too much for most people to just gift.

With the crowdfunding campaign we don't expect, neither ask for a contribution as large as $9,000. The highest is $2,500. And the perks are high too. But what we do expect is to have a good number of supporters willing to put 25-50 into a movie.

Lynn: But, from what I see here, there is a lot of respect for you people: Amy, Jac, Margot, Mila...

There are people willing to put several thousand dollars, their normal requirement is to have a scene that they would like to see and to their specifications. Which is a good deal for us. Of course we do have to pay taxes for those contributions, they go in as cash to our accounts and we have to report it as income and the person putting the money can also deduct it as an expense because it is paid to a company legally formed in the US.

So far, we have two films that were made with contributions for a specific scene, Maleficarum and Dead But Dreaming. We have a few films made with funds that came from pre sales, the Inquisition series and Seven Days on the Cross series. The rest were financed totally with our resources, that includes features like Martyr, Barbazul, Sirwinakuy, Le Marquis de la Croix, Nocturnia and all of the Red Feline movies like Agent X, Fantom, Romana Crucifixa Est, etc.

Lynn: I would suggest one other thought (and I will admit, there may be compelling reasons for you NOT to do this) and that is, a more open discussion, actually a "price list", for contributions to your movie production.

A price list is difficult to have, other than our Crowdfunding campaign. If people want a specific scene. or even specific movie, we would have to budget it according to their specifications. If the movie is outdoors, or indoors, if it requires expensive props, or large number of extras, costumes, etc, etc. A custom film, custom scene, will have to be budgeted. So, no list.

Lynn: So, what does one have to invest to get a "specially requested scene" - and how long a scene (minutes) does one get for X dollars? And what would be the minimum size for a "handshake investment" and at what point is the investment high enough to quote Margot: "But if the investment is high enough, then.. call the attorneys!

If someone is willing to put in a large amount of money, with an specific subject in mind, with a very specific actor in mind, with specific props, etc. We're willing to work out a deal, of course.

As in the example before, Jac was willing to revive a fly to get the cash to see one scene in a movie, and he was willing to pay for the ticket with the money he got from reviving the fly. He was also willing to work weeks without pay, to build a set himself, to design the sexy garments, to set up the lights, to act, do the photography, edit, compose the music, so he could watch the movie of his dreams with his favorite actress. I'm talking about Red Feline On The Cross, of course. That's basically the point.

The difference between a regular movie mogul, or investor and a GIMP investor is that the regular mogul wants to recover the cash and make a profit, the Gimp investor, however, wants to see the scene of his dreams, the possible return of his investment is a plus.

What consistently keeps our work going is the people who love to see what we do and are willing to pay 30 bucks for a download. Maleficarum has demonstrated that there are enough people out there who like our work.

We're also happy to see that there are some few people that would like to see a very specific scene in a movie and are willing to front the money for the cost of such scene.

With our crowdfunding effort we shall see if there are enough people willing to contribute with small or big amounts to one of our movies. The movie will be made, regardless of how much we can raise, we might need to cut corners, it may take a bit longer to produce it, but it will be made. But if we do have enough support to make the movie, then we'll make it with all we want to put in the movie, with the crowds, with all the costumes, etc, and etc.

As I said before, we invest cash, time, work in all the movies we make and we will continue to do so because we love what we do. That's the simple truth. However, we need resources to make our movies better and better. We don't do focus groups for our movies but we do consider what our fans would like to see. We can measure the preferences of those who buy our movies by what they buy the most. What attracts their interests. We don't have losers. All the movies we invest our time, effort and cash in recover their expense and some make more than others, but none of the films have lost money, so far.

We have many ideas. Jac comes up with scenarios that require a lot of resources, so does Amy. So we always have to choose what to do next. That's our reality. The rule of thumb for Jac is What would I be willing to do to see this movie?

At the end of the day, what really keeps us going is the day to day sales. One download, one DVD at a time. That's what makes this ship break the waves. Considering that we are robbed by nasty pirates, a lot, still we can stay afloat because of those who are willing to pay for what we do. (Amy has one word for the pirates: Booooo!)

In short, we love what we do and we do it for those who love what we do. It's a lot of love right there. So, we welcome contributors to our crowdfunding efforts, we welcome individuals who would love to see a very specific scene or movie, and we would welcome big time investors as well. We're pretty much open to all possibilities.

Most importantly, we invite you to go to our stores and buy our movies. That's what makes this ship roll.

I'll have more exciting news soon. Until then!

Hi Reine Margot- It really sounds to me like Jac is a kindred spirit of mine. Growing up in New Jersey I liked getting my gimpage from things like Conan and Gor and Tarzan and Jungle Girl too. Take care. Robert

Gog: Cool Fangoria cover! But in this case, I'm afraid the joke is on you. I'm pretty sure (although not 100% certain) that's Camille, not Amy. Same with the upside-down chick on the cross, Robert. I would imagine both she and Amy get mistaken for each other quite a bit. They're both beautiful women with slim figures, small breasts and long brown hair, and their facial features are quite similar, too. It probably happens a lot. It just shows you what a charmer Jac Avila must be to snare not one but two doll babies as his partners. Most of us would be lucky to have just one. And some of us would need a stun gun just to do that.

Nonetheless, I like your cover a lot better than the one they came up with. An ugly guy with a skull face and dreadlocks doesn't make me want to pick up the issue. A naked chick tied AOH? I'm there!

But getting back to Fangoria, I don't think anybody has mentioned what an incredible accomplishment it is to be featured in that magazine. When Amy told me via e-mail that she was going to be interviewed by a "very cool magazine" a while back, she didn't say which one, but I knew just from her description exactly which one she was referring to. I mean, how many magazines can you call "cool" based on reputation alone? When I used to help out my roommate who ran a comic store, I would always flock to the issues of Fangoria first. They weren't necessarily bondage-themed, but they would tell you about upcoming horror films and there was usually something in there that would inevitably point to films where women were tied up.

It was through Fangoria that I first found out about Opera (aka Terror at the Opera), which is one of the top 10 greatest mainstream GIMP movies ever made, IMO. They showed a picture of the lead cutie tied up with needles taped under her eyes and I was hooked...I had to find that film!

Then there was this picture from The Hitcher which I saved from an issue that I've kept all these years (check out their clever caption below) of Jennifer Jason Leigh tied up between 2 trucks.

This was before the Internet, and the only way you could tell there was going to be bondage in a movie was if you were lucky enough to find a tiny picture of a tied-up woman somewhere on the box. But thanks to Fangoria, this was one that I rented on the first day, after months of anticipation after seeing that picture.

So the fact that Amy is now in the current issue is proof that she (and Maleficarum) have finally arrived. They've made the big time!

Damn! I think Ralphus is right.

I didn't really think it looked like Amy, but thought the make-up was overdone for purposes of promotional pic, thereby giving a different appearance (like Lindsay as Marilyn for example) .

If I were Amy, I'd immediately send in a complaint in to Fangoria and get this rectified ASAP! Her fans deserve to get an issue with the correct picture on the cover......and giant poster on the inside. :-)

And I agree....not only about Fangoria, but about the DVD's selling on Amazon as well. It does my heart good to see Amy & crew do well. I can now wear my pervertedness with pride. Now if someone can do the same concerning my dementedness.;-)

Question. I've always wondered why it's okay to have movies out there where people's heads are chopped off or they are mutilated or chainsawed, but it's not okay if any of the scenes involved rape at the same time. It's almost if they are saying, killing someone in a movie is okay, but rape is forbidden.....I'm just wondering what the logic is in that? How is rape in a movie worse than slaughtering someone?

Gog - Thank you so much for the "Amy" cover of Fangoria, I can only hope that will happen some day! And yes, that's a picture of Carmen Paintoux, and a really amazing picture it is. She does have some pretty heavy eye makeup there.

Carnyx - Also Carmen Paintoux on the X-cross, that's a scene from Martyr. Funny enough, seeing Martyr made me want to work with Jac. I kind of talked him into a few days after seeing the movie in a festival. He didn't need much persuading, but hey, he didn't know me very well, I could have been a psycho. ;)

As Ralphus pointed out, Carmen and I do look pretty similar. I've had people mistake me for her when I'm with Jac. It's not exactly nice for me, but hey, it happens. I also look like a much younger version of Jac's ex-wife. Comparing photos of she and I weirds me out a bit. Makes you wonder about him?

This is a huge deal for us, Fangoria and Amazon.com. Really huge. I can't express how excited I am. I wish I was in NYC right now so I could walk into Forbidden Planet (one of my fav comic stores) and start signing the magazine copies for them. Although, they would probably tell me that I'm defacing their property, and throw me out of the store, but hey, a girl can try. :)

When I was a kid, I had a huge stack of Fangoria magazines at my dad's house. My mother wouldn't let me have anything of the kind at her house, because of the "bad vibes". So, being in that very magazine I read with such guilty delight when I was a kid makes me feel like I'm "making it".

This is what we're working towards, being more mainstream, without sacrificing the content we love, no compromises.

BigD - This is forever a conundrum to myself as well. I was talking with Erik, another member of our regular cast and crew about the script he's writing. He was telling me about the opening scene, which is pretty bloody and involves a man doing something violent to a woman. So my first question to him (he wants us to produce the movie) was "Is the woman naked?", followed by "Why does it happen so fast? Logically, if the guy is doing this to the girl, he's enjoying himself, he'll draw it out a bit.", and so forth. Erik felt reluctant to have rape in the scene, or show the aggressor enjoying the torture of his victim.

Amy: Wrong girl, right sentiment. :-)

BigD's question reminded me of something else I've been wondering about. Maybe Amy can answer if she knows. The question is, in crime/horror movies where a victim is found, the detectives collect blood and bodily fluids for testing.......but semen is never shown. Is showing semen (on a fresh victim) a faux pas in mainstream?

I mean even in....let's say, a PKF film, where the actress does a simulated scene, a lot of times fake cum is added for "the money shot" as they call it. So in mainstream, is it something not thought about, or is it something that isn't allowed?

And also, Amy wrote: "Thank you so much for the "Amy" cover of Fangoria, I can only hope that will happen some day!"

Amy, I think you should think that it WILL happen someday.....and that you should prepare for that cover shot by having some similar pictures taken now. Fully nude of course (can alway put the film strip covers in strategic places). Then post them here for feedback of which one we think would look best. Hey, I can try can't I? :-)

Hello, guys. Long time no see. I've been wanting to log in for some time but there were problems here and there and they had to be dealt with. Anyway, congrats Ralphus for your 14th anniversary. Though this is extremely belated, let me congratulate you properly by giving this review of the movie Hitch Hike (1977) which I think haven't been reviewed yet by anyone here. The reason I chose to review this title is because it is practically an almost 2 hour viewing of Corrine Clery being humiliated. Yes, she suffered pretty much the same in O but there she was willing. Here, she wasn't.

It's an Italian exploitation horror that was so popular during the 1970's, starring Franco Nero (the D is silent), Corinne Clery (if you're a gimper but this name escapes you, start from scratch), and David Hess (love the guy). So, Nero and Clery play Walter & Eve, a bickering couple on vacation near an empty mountain/desert/highway, shown in the first 5 minutes how they despise each other with Walter pointing his hunting rifle to Eve and Eve refusing to have sex with him:

We find out the source of their problem later; it's because Walter is a drunk and temperamental journalist getting to the position he's in now cause Eve's father owns the company he's working for. Eve, obviously, feels she deserves more than the bastard. This fight of theirs continues to the night when Walter opens their trailer door for a couple in the rest area while his wife is changing:

Which leads to more argument with her in this kind of state:

See? I wasn't kidding when I told you the humiliation would be done unwillingly on her expense, huh?

The next day, they continue their trip when they run into a hitchhiker, Adam (Hess), who had his car broke down. Walter tells Eve to ignore the guy but Eve wants to stick it to him and invites Adam in. At first, it looks like everything is fine until Adam notices Eve & Walter aren't actually in love. Adam starts making passes at Eve, much to Walter's wrath. Not because he loves her, but because his ego won't let any guy teasing any girl he couldn't even have. This leads to a fight between Walter & Adam which ends once Adam shows his handgun, revealing himself as an asylum escapee who robbed a bank, leaving his 2 friends and is now on the run.

Walter's ego had enough of this BS and he stops the car, dragging Adam out for a fight. Walter, despite his anger, quickly overpowers Adam but the guy goes for his gun and stops Walter, letting him know he's in control now. Hell, he even makes sure of his role by revealing Eve's underwear. (That's one way to tell everybody you're the boss, BTW. LOL). Long story short, they're stuck with him. Either they take him to Mexico, or he shoots them.

As the movie progresses, it's clear there's no protagonist in this movie. With the exception of maybe Eve, but later it turns out she's not actually the good wife either so I guess I won't call her good. Everybody is selfish and thinks only of themselves. It's nice for a change of pace where nowadays the horror movies are filled with stupid good guys or lame bad guys. Halfway through the movie, the 2 guys who were part of Adam's team caught up with them and attacked them, presumably killing Adam. But later Adam came back and disposed of them, all the while having Eve & Walter in the middle.

The climax (pun intended) came when, the night after killing his former friends, Adam decides to have his way with Eve after Walter mocked him for being an insane psycho. So, he has Eve naked, lying on the desert with Walter restrained across them, before he gets on with it:

What starts as a rape, suddenly takes a turn Straw Dogs style when Eve replies to Adam's advances:

We see Eve & Walter exchanging looks. Walter puts his head down, but more than likely because he's finally sure there are no more feelings between him and Eve. Once they're finished, Adam boasts to Walter how good a time he showed Eve:

Adam & Eve return to the trailer (giving Walter a chance to escape his ropes) before Adam returns to mock Walter, but Walter casually returns the words and angers Adam. Before Adam can shoot Walter, however, Eve shoots Adam from behind the trailer with Walter's hunting rifle, killing him:

Walter & Eve regain their composure and set out to hide Adam's body in the garage, and take the money. Eve, though, seems like she still has some reservations over what happened. Walter, realizing this might prove troublesome for his plan, mocks Eve by saying she must have really enjoyed the Adam treatment. They bicker again and it becomes clear there's just no uniting these two. Not even a maniac with a gun could do that.

The next day, on the highway, Walters gets into trouble with some teenagers, ending with the teens sabotaging the road and making the car trips. The teenagers get Walter's pockets, but stupidly leave out the bagful of money, something Walter laughs at once he recollects his composure.

Miraculously, the temperamental man escapes uninjured while Eve seems to suffer from a broken back. Eve tearfully asks Walter to help, but Walter dismisses it easily, all the while grabbing the money and getting out of the car. Noticing the gas leaks out thanks to the accident, Walter drags Adam's body out of the trunk and places it near Eve, giving Adam & Eve a chance to be together for the last time. With an evil intent on his eyes, Walter lights the gas and leaves as Eve is burnt alive alongside the car. The movie ends with Walter, now carrying loads of dollars, trying to hitch hike his way to Mexico.

Okay, so aside from being a massive opportunity of humiliating Clery, this movie is an amazing horror movie to watch, if only for the ending alone! This gets an A from me!

Mr. O: Gee, I wonder if David Hess ever worried about being typecast? In any event, thanks for putting together the entertaining review and the excellent caps for Hitch Hike. I had never heard of the film but it looks like has real potential.

Mr. 0: Good to have you back. It's hard to believe this movie had not yet been reviewed...thanks for rectifying that with a very comprehensive write-up and nice caps.

My only familiarity with this movie came from a clip of campfire scene. Thanks to your review, I now understand more about what was going on in that scene.

I would like to add that the DVD is available for an attractive price at Amazon.

Speaking of attractive, I always felt that Corinne Clery was one of the most beautiful women to ever walk the earth. It's why I went to see Story of O four times when it was playing in the cinema.

Well, that and the whipping.

----------

Today's Munch: A couple of years ago, Baron von Folter posted something relevant to this scenario.

As we say in Florida: Swim nude. Gators hate to peel their food.

----------

Movies Unlimited kindly sent me a link to a web article entitled Five Things that Define a Classic Film. Briefly, the five factors that make a film a classic are said to be:

1. It is re-watchable
2. Memorable performances
3. The feeling you get whenever you watch it [duh]
4. Recognition (or lack thereof), i.e., everybody knows about it, or it is a forgotten gem
5. Quotes

With the exception of #5, I think these criteria can also be applied to GIMP scenes. Generally, the success of a GIMP scene does not depend greatly upon dialog, so finding memorable quotes is rather challenging (although I'll never forget the girl being forced to say, "Thank you Mr. Rapist, for choosing me," in Act of Vengeance).

I propose that the fifth criterion for elevating a GIMP scene to classic status should be the scenario itself. Is there something about it that makes it stand out from the crowd? For example:

~ Amy Hesketh whipped while riding a wooden horse in Maleficarum
~ The flamethrower scene in Don't Go in the House
~ The 17-minute dungeon scene from Poor Cecily featuring multiple victims, whipping/racking combos and hot iron branding.

Well, you get the idea.

@Badger: My pleasure, it gave me the chance to view the goddess that is Corrine Clery. >_<

----

@A Canadian: That's an interesting POV about Hess, but I felt like without that "typecasting" he wouldn't have become the cult figure he is today. He must be in the top 10 Male Exploitation Stars ever, if not in number 1.

And glad u enjoy the review. There's a lot of unwillingness going around in the movie, and to my memory, you'd like that. It's actually a reason why I chose to review the movie, BTW. Because, although Corrine Clery made a good submissive, I'm sure she'd make a good unwilling victim as well and it just shows in the movie.

----

@Yik Yakker: Yeah, I was shocked too when I realized the movie hasn't been reviewed. But maybe it has something to do with it being rare even among the exploitation cinema, so there's an explanation at least.

And glad to know you like Ms. Clery that much, then again, who doesn't? Sometimes I wonder if she was actually whipped for real in O, you know?

And about the quotes part...actually, I think if cheesy quotes can be counted as memorable quotes, there's lots of that in many GIMP movies. Though, of course, they're cheesy and sleazy. :P

Hi all,

As we are talking and posting images of GIMPers and animals... well, one of the best scenes ever, and in a mainstream movie to top it off, is the Worm Rape Scene in "Galaxy of Terror".

Today's Munch: Well it was only a matter of time before we inevitably came to this. Bugs!

But I agree with El Wananchi - the Worm Rape Scene in Galaxy of Terror was indeed fun. That giant worm was smart, he stripped her and slimed her up very nicely.

This scene is a bit dark so I lightened up the images a bit.

What do you think, folks? A classic scene?

----------

A Canadian: It's unfortunate that Yuma is going the way of many actresses and slimming herself down to nothing as she gets older. From the picture you posted, it looks like Yuma has broader shoulders than her colleague Akiho...that means Yuma can afford to have a bit more meat on her slightly larger frame.

Sometimes it seems like women try to overcompensate and end up looking too gaunt, which is not sexy.
